This is very exciting stuff, cannot wait to build for windows/mac and distribute them on Steam
This is why I advocate for Corona in nearly every possible situation. Good work !!
Great to hear! Keep us posted! Thanks Rob!
This is actually what has me interested in Corona SDK. We are really just looking for a wrapper for distributing HTML view content cross platform from one project base. So far Corona has worked pretty well, but desktop builds are something greatly needed.
Engineering has delivered the 2nd private beta to the beta testers this week.
How does one become a beta tester?
Good question… This “feature” would make the hoop jumping worth it for me as well.
Dave & cborn,
Desktop apps are now in open beta. See the blog post and visit our Win32 and OSX forums.
Regards,
Michael
Rob are you talking about OSx or both OSx+Win32 apps?
How are the builds handled? Is it done through CoronaCards or we can use native corona?
Thanks
From the blog:
By default, you can build apps directly from Corona Simulator, just like you would for iOS or Android. No interaction with Xcode or Visual Studio is needed.
Wow… i didn’t even see your first post! That was extremely bad/good timing from my part. This is awsome news, can’t wait to look more into it when i get home.
Are there any updates on Mac App and Win32 App support that was announced in March? I would love to start experimenting with Steam deployment-not to mention get a Greenlight started! (Since, I’ve never put a game on Steam, I’m waiting to make sure the Corona SDK Win32 build will work with Steam.)
Most of our apps already have HD visuals as well as Ouya, FireTV and GameStick controller compatibility so my fingers are crossed for a smooth port to Steam!
OS-X builds are in a closed beta now. The Windows x86 builds are getting closer.
Rob
dont forget full screen, thx
