Because i think it takes longer to add people than simply clicking on the link. As you know people are busy and any extra steps means that you may not be added right away. Maybe I am missing something, but if someone just post @company then you need to search for that handle and then add that person. Maybe I am doing it wrong but it took me a while to add people who posted only an handle and not the full link.
