I was just going to say that. When I had them running in one of my native apps that is what they looked like (most of the times). Don’t think it has anything to do with Corona’s implementation.
Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like this is how they’re supposed to look. I did contact Applovin too and they said that this is in fact a formal ad type and not a caching issue.
Wanted to check back in on this. Any Corona staff know of an update? Thanks!
I tried them out on some of my native apps. Just my opinion: Meh. It appears to get paid somebody has to click and install the app being advertised. Admob is still king of banner ads.
I’ll ask Engineering. I know we are working on AppLovin, but I don’t know what those tasks are.
Rob
Thanks to you both!
The engineer working on the plugin confirmed that he is adding banner ad support. No ETA.
Rob
Hi guys!
I am using AppLovin and I see that the banners are available.
But I can not see them. And I do not even find instructions for their possible placement (bottom or top).
Is it possible to have more information?
At least for the free version of Applovin on Android, I tried yesterday and it doesn’t look like it is implemented as the documentation says.
-
Setting the banner type as “standard” returns an error that function expected one parameter and received 2.
-
Removing the banner type parameter returns an error that “banner” is not recognized as a valid type.
Using the latest daily version of Corona (like the new start page design by the way).
I’m asking Engineering for some guidance on this.
Rob
I’ve confirmed with Engineering that banners are still a work in progress. They are not ready for you to use yet.
Rob
Hey guys,
Banner update finally went online for both free and paid Applovin Corona plugins, check it out! B)
Excellent thanks for the update!
Getting ready to finally dig into this! I assume all is working ok? Guess I’ll find out as I test
Curious if anyone’s successfully implemented these banners yet…
I’ll be working on this today/tomorrow so I’ll provide some feedback then.
No luck so far. However, I haven’t been able to log in to my AppLovin panel to be sure I’m properly configured.
Thus far, I can show interstitial and rewarded ads, but not banner.
I get this from the listener:
I/Corona ( 9117): ----------------------------------------- I/Corona ( 9117): applovin-listener I/Corona ( 9117): ----------------------------------------- I/Corona ( 9117): table: 0x792562b0 { I/Corona ( 9117): [type] =\> "banner" I/Corona ( 9117): [name] =\> "adsRequest" I/Corona ( 9117): [phase] =\> "failed" I/Corona ( 9117): [provider] =\> "applovin" I/Corona ( 9117): [isError] =\> true I/Corona ( 9117): [response] =\> "No ads available (Error code 204)"
That looks like a no fill error. Where are you located? It might be expected.
I’m in Oregon, USA.
Running in testMode on Android.
I do agree however, and I find this promising at least in the sense that my code is probably right.
Honestly, Iove the AppLovin API as the simplest of all ads that support rewarded videos.
I just tried on Android, iOS, and FireOS.
I received the same response as you on all three devices. I am in Charlotte, NC. I am going to continue testing and see if I find anything. On FireOS and on Android, I did testMode, but on iOS I tried both non-test and test. Same results.
