BT will soon be outdated and we will still be waiting⦠This is very depressing. [import]uid: 11904 topic_id: 461 reply_id: 102732[/import]
MIDI is outdated too, but still extremely useful and an industry standard.
Bluetooth is one of the cheapest ways to add wireless communication to hardware devices. In addition to that, bluetooth devices are already embedded into so many different systems (cars, stereos, computers, phones, etc.) that is seems like an obvious candidate for support.
Iām all for supporting whatever replaces BT as well⦠when the time comes. [import]uid: 49447 topic_id: 461 reply_id: 102750[/import]

Me too. My comments re. getting outdated was partial sarcasm related to Anscaās slow delivery on this need. [import]uid: 11904 topic_id: 461 reply_id: 102795[/import]
thanks, I realized that after I posted⦠but then thought my post was still valid in itās own right. Keeping my fingers crossed, since going with PhoneGap ended up being a bit of a nightmare, although it all worked out. I would have loved to have used Corona instead of course. Bluetooth 4.0 is here. It is quite an exciting technology which is very energy efficient. iPhone 4S, the new iPad and some of the Macs come equipped with BT 4.0. So to newer Androids. I really hope Ansca takes notice about this and provides some kind of BT API, or at least let us know where is it along the roadmap?
Here are couple of videos to drive home the point:

+1 for BT here as well.
Iād really like it so I could pick up input from bluetooth keyboards which is what the iCade emulates.
I have a couple of great ideas for games but they just wouldnāt work with on-screen controls. [import]uid: 7841 topic_id: 461 reply_id: 104939[/import]
Are you all aware of this:
Itās not bluetooth, but it should make your peer-to-peer needs easy to manage.
