Can we get an update on what will happen with Coronium moving forward?

The latest blog post and his Twitter suggest he is no longer working on Coronium at all, or with Corona Labs.

And see the replies to his tweet:

Wow I hadn’t read the blog. That’s tough to hear. I’d also like to hear an official statement about Corona Cloud and about what happened to Chris

I’m also curious about this subject

I just want to know what will happen with Coronium. I don’t want to invest time integrating a technology that is no longer supported.

I suggest you not count on Coronium continuing in any permutation.

Agh, I was trying to hold out but I guess PlayFab or GameSparks it is. All my choices for backend seem to die - first with Stackmob, then Parse, now Coronium. I don’t want to be responsible for another one going under.

@Corona, it would be nice if you could explain your strategy moving forward. You announce something in the past about a nice cloud solution and now we learn from a back door that its a dead project. Being more transparent is important for your Enterprise paying customer who rely on your product and on the direction your are announcing publicly. Maybe in the future you should wait until something is ready before announcing it, that way we do not have expectation of something that could be removed. Many of us, have started investing time and money in this solution, and now we are all back to square one.

@nmichaud I agree wholeheartedly, but to be fair to Corona, Chris just said that he is no longer personally involved. It could be that it’s just business as usual for Corona and they still plan to support it, hence no announcement. But the reason I started this thread was to get that little bit of clarification. I think we should hear all the facts first before jumping to any conclusions.

It could be far better to read an announcement from Corona as we read Chris’ statement. Users would want to know if it’s still an on-going project or we should look for alternatives.

So, today I got an e-mail from Defold saying that they now have PlayFab support and guess what I saw on their GitHub page.

Indeed, stay tuned for upcoming news on this…

Wow what a huge find! I’ve been on the fence between PlayFab and GameSparks and I was dreading having to implement the REST api on my own. This will make things so much easier.

Does anybody have an ETA of when the official PlayFab plugin will be available?

This week. Sooner rather than later.

Excellent, thanks

Well I’m super excited to start using PlayFab
