I’m using the Windows simulator and I don’t see any options to change the terminal/console colors in Preferences. Please give us the ability to change the BG Color of the Corona Simulator Output console in Windows!
Jay, make sure your launcher isn’t running Corona Terminal instead of Corona Simulator. We’ve added our own custom logging screens to both Mac and PC simulators. You can see the Mac version in the screen shot below.
There currently is no way to change the color. I created a feedback request for this: http://feedback.coronalabs.com/forums/188732-corona-sdk-feature-requests-feedback/suggestions/11296113-allow-changing-the-colors-of-the-console-window

When I launch using Outlaw or Desperado I have the command line thing set to not launch the console – but when I launch Corona Simulator manually, the terminal window opens and it says this:
Corona Simulator Console
Diagnostics and Lua print output will appear here
…and it’s in the light on dark color scheme that I set in Terminal Prefs. I’m using the latest public build (2015.2731) of Corona. Was the change in a daily build since then, perhaps?

And… I just answered my own question by downloading the latest daily build. And discovered that change apparently also changed the format of the “prefix” for the strings coming back from Corona because Outlaw/Desperado no longer strips the date/time.
Good thing I’m making other updates – I’ll add that to the list.

In daily build #2803, which is available now, we’ve added an option to change the visual theme of our new logging window. It now provides a “Dark” theme for that MS-DOS like look you guys are looking for. This option can be found by clicking the right-most toolbar button.
YES!!! CoronaSDK 2016.2803 build is great! My eyes thank you immensely!!!
Daily Build 2813 has themes for the OS X Simulator Console (click on the gear icon on the bottom left; OS X 10.10 and higher)
