Normally I just replace the folder. But in this case, I think I would delete the existing folder and empty the trash just to make sure.
ok deleted and installed the latest build and still the same issue, runs fine in the simulator on both Windows and Mac but the build just hangs, terminal window shows it stopping at the same point as previous versions…
Oh I hope I haven’t missed something really simple and I am going to be mortified
Time to start reaching for straws. Does your path to your main.lua have any non ASCII characters in it? What about spaces?
What about your certificate/key names? Provisioning Profiles?
Yes its in a folder on the desktop called “MCP Build Folder”
Should I post screen caps of the certificates and in here keys here?
Not necessary as long as you know they are clean names. Do you have a folder called “resources” in with your main.lua? Actually what all folders do you have in there?
Can you try to rename the folder and take the spaces out?
Your home folder doesn’t have any non-ASCII characters does it?
For issues like this, I recommend trying to build the HelloWorld sample app. It is a good place to start to determine if there is a general build problem.
Tom: I have tried some of the sample programs (not all of them) a couple of days ago with the same problem, will try the hello world app again shortly.
Rob: No resources folder I just have everything in one folder right now and just the usual chars on file names and home folder.

HelloWorld still hangs during build and I have to use the Activity Monitor to stop it.
<Does a jig like Bruce Willis on the tower in The Last Boy Scout>
I can build successfully now and deploy to my devices! I can build! I can build! If I build it they might come!
Ok enough of the movie references for those of you who have been following this thread (if anyone) I deleted all the provisioning profiles and revoked all certificates (even though they were all valid) and re-issued and re-deployed the profiles and its all working now.
It is interesting that Corona SDK doesn’t report a certificate or profile problem when there is something wrong it would have been helpful if it did. Maybe it cant report a problem if the Mac OS says they are all good?
Thankyou everyone for your help especially Rob and Perry from Corona SDK staff.
Peace Out brothers and sisters, thankyou!
Peter
Wow! Great news but still a real mystery. We do report certificate or profile problems at the end of the build process when we use the Apple provisioning to codesign the app. Your hang was in a completely different place so I’m at a loss as to why what you did fixed it. I just sent you a list of things to try on the support ticket which you can obviously ignore.
It was probably my lack of experience with Macs and the provisioning process that missed a step the first 2 times and not any issue with Corona SDK, thankyou again for your help and patience. I sent an email to you advising to close the case.

Glad this is over. Now a full & proper welcome to Corona SDK. Enjoy!!!
Thanks ksan! Its great product and so easy to use I don’t want anyone else to find out about it :-) I have been putting off getting into iOS programming cause I find Macs so cumbersome to use but now I can develop on Windows for both 'droid and iOS happy days!
Peter
Heh heh. Another Windoze convert here. I worked with Wintel for many years but thanks to the invasion set by iPhones my family got hooked on Macs and eventually I had to follow suit. They have a nasty habit of growing on you. Beware!
We have a houseful of iphones and ipads and really love the products and love iOS and are really excited about building some apps for them. The Mac I bought last week and its only function is intended to be for deploying apps to test devices and the app store.
iOS devices have been a godsend for people like me with many business clients and a lot of upper management types who struggle with simple things like checking their email on a laptop now I just get them an iOS device and they are happy as and I am happy cause they stop calling me for desktop support. it does my head in sometimes trying to communicate with people who say “I clicked on the blue thing and now the red thing has come up…” who understands that speak
After using the mac for a week I know I can never be as productive on it as I can a Window Box, its just impossible to move quickly around a mac environment as it is a Windows one, IMHO
AppleTV? Fantastic product we use it all the time!
The Mac Desktop it just seems to me that Apple does not do things that Microsoft does. You know like if your scroll mouse goes this way on a PC then Mac has to scroll the other way by default simply because Microsoft do it the other way. You know its like Apple is deliberately not embracing new ideas on their desktop because Microsoft is doing it already so development of the Mac desktop is not moving forward, I don’t think its changed much at all since I first used it 10 years ago
Microsoft on the other hand has no shame if they see a great idea and they cant copy it they will buy it
Enough of my blather! There are Apps to write and miles to go before I sleep!
Onward!
Peter
I hear you. I spent a lifetime using, supporting, developing applications for and running infrastructure related to Windows. Its a different beast thats for sure. Anyways, just saw this and thought it might be a good final thought on my off-topic tangent on your thread. Enjoy!

I haven’t seen the blue screen of death since the days of XP and it was usually due to bad hardware rather than something wrong with the software
I have the exact same problem with the exact same symptoms, however, In revoking and reissuing certificates and rebuilding provisioning profiles, as well as wiping all profiles, certificates and keys off the computer before starting over, I still get the same exact message. The terminal reads just as atonings read above. I’m at the end of my chain! Please help!
@adam429, you need to file a bug report if you want help. The forum is great to get other user’s input, but’s it not a bug reporting system.
Since nobody else is reporting hang issues, it’s probably something that you will will need to fix on your end. Corona SDK uses the Xcode tools to build and sign the app and if there is a problems with what you have in your system, it’s really out of our control. You might try removing Xcode and re-installing it to make sure that’s not the problem. You should also look in your keychain and removed any expired certificates. That will cause build problems.
As an additional note, I have only seen the build hang one time and that was a few years ago because of some UTF8 characters a user was using in the app name (which has been fixed). I always recommend building the HelloWorld sample app when users have problems like this.
I tried building the HelloWorld sample to no avail. I also check and rechecked for expired certs and cleared them all out. I know it’s on my end 100%, for life of me I just can’t figure it out. I’ll file a bug report asap! And give the other ideas a shot.
Thanks Tom!
