Yes, there is pretty much no way to track / contact other users on the forum without user profiles / private messages.
The only way to get someones attention would be to post in a topic they have posted in and hope they are subscribed to the topic so that they receive an email notification; like I did.

I have to agree with you, pink seeds didn’t work well…
Also tried to put grid of app icons (appwall) behind the seeds… big version looks good but effect is gone at the icon size. so dropped it in favor of the following.
