This is interesting : “The 99$/year Splash Screen Control plugin and any other marketplace related content are 100% optional.”. My understanding was it is mandatory to pay this annually to remove the corona splash ad screen for publishing game.

No.  You can publish all your games and leave the Corona splash screen in.

You only need to pay that if you want to remove the splash screen.

Thanks! I was thinking if the app store will allow me to publish with corona splash screen, don’t they expect me to give a game splash screen? I could be wrong.

There’s thousands of Corona games out there with the Corona splash screen. And hundreds of thousands with the Unity splash screen. It’s not a problem.

Oh come on! You’ve played games or watched movies before, right? :stuck_out_tongue:

Think of the gazillion of certifications, logos or texts that pop up before the actual group that made the game or movie comes up. Stuff like: “The Way It’s Meant to be Played by NVIDIA”, or “Runs Great On Intel®”, etc. or you have the stuff like “Battlefield V, Published by EA, Developed by DICE”, etc. etc.

Now, with movies, it’d be wrong if I didn’t mention this piece of horror with its 5 minutes of intro texts  :smiley:

But seriously, I doubt any app store would care if you had a 5 minutes of intro before the app starts, but the users might. :stuck_out_tongue:

I have a question, I know the Splash Screen Control plugin has a $99 annually repeating cost to permit the substitution of the Corona Splash screen with your Splash screen. My question is, if I make an application today using the plugin so that my splash screen apears instead of the Corona splash screen, that same application will continue to display my splash screen after the year of payment terminate or I have to pay it again so that the applications that I have done before continue to show my splash screen and not the Corona splash screen?

Corona plugin licensers are checked at build time. Once your app is in the store it will continue to show your custom splash screen. If you let your subscription lapse, and update your app, it will then revert to the Corona logo splash screen.
