Dashboard Analytics Not Working for a Month

Interesting. I can’t get it to display in Firefox but I can in Chrome.

A couple of comments:

  1. There is no data prior to Sept. 5.

  2. When I navigate around the dashboard I often get “Oops! The graph broke. (404 status code)” error messages.

Thanks.

Edissey - can you send us a screenshot of what you are seeing in Firefox?

It just shows

404: Not Found

And yes, I did clear the cache.

See attachment.

Thanks.

Ok, so the Dashboard loads but the individual apps show a 404.

Perhaps it’s third-party cookie issue, try loading the Dashboard in Chrome to see if you get different behavior than in Firefox.

I’ve confirmed that that apps you have tabs for should be showing data.

It is working now whe I accepot third party cookies - not crazy about enabling this feature given the security risks.

But, when I start choosing different options from the dashboard droipdowns the 404 error comes up intermittently in the frame in which I am browsing. For example, if I keep chaging the dropdown value under User Composition at some point I will get:

Oops! The graph broke.
(404 status code)

Thanks.

Same here… it’s a shame we want to use this to monitor OEM bulk orders we provide to clients (selling X copies of a product). We need some way to monitor how many copies are in use.

Would be glad to hear whats up with analytics, is it retired?

Glad to hear its not just us.

Hey Corona Labs - don’t you think you should be communicating around this to your paid customers? Why the silence?

We’re working hard on a new, improved Launchpad analytics system which we hope will be available soon.

was this annouced? I mean the fact that the old analytics is not working?

it appears on the site as if it is a working feature… quite disappointed from this,

why can’t you leave the old system while working on a new one it’s not the first time I have big issues with analytics and I even thing I got a similar answer in the past

Found this blog post by you Perry (dated April 2013!):

http://www.coronalabs.com/blog/2013/04/24/analytics-theyre-baaaaaaack/

Is this a joke?? a new system was annouced 5 months ago and already it’s down and you again are working on a new system?

I would love to understand what exactly is going on with this system…

Perhaps this is part of a new policy of opaqueness and obfuscation.

Still dumbfounded by how (poorly) this is being communicated and managed by Corona.

Walter and David - What’s up with this? Don’t you think you should be talking to your customers about this?

Hey guys - the analytics system is actually pretty complex so I don’t want to get into implementation details (e.g., leaving one system up while another is in the works) here. We are now working on a much better analytics system with a partner, but these things sometimes take time. The amount of data is very large. I wish it were up already, but it unfortunately isn’t.

I believe Perry has sent both of you a link where you might be able to preview the analytics. Here it is publicly if anyone wants to try it: https://developer.coronalabs.com/analytics/amplitude

Fair warning - your mileage may vary. Some data is up to date, some won’t be. We are working to get it to a place where it works well for all the apps.

Just a quick final point - we have never made out our analytics to be a core part of our offering. We focus on Corona, and the analytics are a free benefit we try to offer our developers. If analytics are mission-critical for what you do, I would recommend having backup. We do include Flurry with Corona, and there are other options out there you could use as well.

David

Thank you for replying. It’s good to see this is being noticed. A few points in reply:

  1. The new analytics link Perry sent does not work
  2. Even if analytical are not a core offering once such a feature is offered and developers rely on it, it is not unreasonable to expect it to be there.
  3. I have no issue with analytics being down because you’re implementing a new system. And I am not asking nor do I care about the technical details. My concern and issue is around the fact that the company has been silent about all this and is not communicating to its customers. By all means upgrade, improve, etc. but at least let us know what is going on.

Thank you for your consideration.

Edissey - you make a good point about the lack of communication (and the once it’s there, you expect it). Honestly, we do try, but there are so many things to do we sometimes forget about the communication. So point(s) taken.

But back to analytics  When you click on that link, what do you see?

Thank you for that David.

When I click on the new link I see the circular rotating timer graphic (looks like the iOS graphic) which never stops.

Ok, got it. We’ll see what’s up…

Can you send me the URL of the page where you see the spinner? I think you may be getting re-directed to the wrong page.

Works for me! thanks David, I do see some strange data (I’ve enabled the dashboard in our app only a couple of days back and I see information all over the last month but I still need to check that out…)

Anyway, thanks for this and I really hope next time this communicates more clearly.

For the old analytics with the rotating timer:http://developer.coronalabs.com/dashboard/reports?appId=1049044ff6611d214cd4.43143146http://developer.coronalabs.com/dashboard/reports?appId=1049044fc831a948dfc5.26293019http://developer.coronalabs.com/dashboard/reports?appId=1049044fe935a06b4579.16260534For the new analytcics that show 404: Not Foundhttps://developer.coronalabs.com/analytics/amplitudeThe URL does not change when I change tabs for the apps Thanks

Now when I go to https://developer.coronalabs.com/analytics/amplitude I get
