Carlos,
Thanks for update. [import]uid: 42593 topic_id: 13266 reply_id: 57825[/import]
An update to the update.
We just got a new build from inMobi that fixed a few issues we found and they found.
We are hoping to have a fast turnaround and provide you with the update when it passes all our testing.

I installed daily build 626 which includes “Update to InMobi SDK 3.0. Fixes crasher related to hiding before ad request completes” according to the notes.
I installed and tested my game on a couple devices. The good news is I did not see the ad related crash, so yeah to that!
The not so good news is I could not get a single inMobi ad to display on an iPhone 4. Identical code on an iPad 2 worked and displayed the inMobi banner ad and a grey banner saying “if you see this ad, your integration is successful!” But nothing similar on the iPhone 4. Any idea why there would be a difference between devices, or is this a new issue? Anyone see inMobi ads on an iPhone with build 626.
Also (don’t know if this is related) my app running on the devicepopped up a native alert asking permission to use my location. I’ve never seen this before. Is this something new related to inMobi, the Ansca Dashboard/metrics, or something else? [import]uid: 9422 topic_id: 13266 reply_id: 58104[/import]

That’s the inMobi issue we found. That is fixed. but we found other stuff.
if you have fill ratio problems on ads displaying contact ansca@inmobi.com

Well, I’m still using the inMobi test ad account since I have yet to ship my game. In all previous builds the inMobi test ads appeared nearly without fail. In this version I still get ads on the iPad, but so far NONE have shown up on the iPhone 4.
I realize some people are experiencing issues with fill ratio on shipped apps, but for testing purposes I would expect to get ads without fail assuming I’ve wired things up correctly. The admob hack test ads are still showing up on both phones so I’m pretty sure it’s related to something changing on the inMobi side with this latest version.

I see the same thing as jinwchen. After I delete my game and reinstall an entry reappears for it in the locations services prefs panel. It does remember the on/off state last set, but it seems odd that this would even show up.
And I’m still not able to see test ads on an iPhone 3gs or 4. Tests ads are appearing fine on an iPad2. I tried using the inMobi test ID as well as the ID assigned to my app by inMobi with identical results. I emailed inMobi regarding this issue but have haven’t received a reply back.
Carlos, can you perhaps shine a little light on this?
To put my mind at ease a little I’m wondering if anyone can point me to a live Corona-based iOS app that has inMobi ads so I can verify they work on my devices. [import]uid: 9422 topic_id: 13266 reply_id: 58396[/import]
I just spoke with Walter, looked at the logs and the location fixed was submitted last night. Maybe still fubar.
Please - en masse - email to ansca@inmobi.com and explain the issue.
I know we have tools like forums, twitter, etc, but I have to transfer info from forum, to emial, to phone, etc. Help me help you by you reaching out directly to the inmobi guys at ansca@inmobi.com and explain as well in detail.
thanks

Carlos,
The location service issue did not get fixed at all. I am afraid that if I post my game with this location service, it might consume extra battery power if the user answers YES when the location service pop-up window asks.
The build CoronaSDK 2011.627 indicates the Location service was fixed. See below build note:
iOS/Ads: Update to InMobi SDK i300 (Build 3.0.2). Fixes issue where geo-data permission popup came up even if geo-data was not used.
I have just tested the Ads on iPad (by using build CoronaSDK 2011.627) and found it is not fixed. But it is kind of weird regarding scenario.
The very first time I installed the test game on iPad and ran the game. It popped up a window to ask me whether it can use my location or not. My game does not use any location service in code at all. So it must be a bug. After I answered the question, then I can play my game without any crashes caused by ads. I went to “Location Services” in “Settings”, I did see my game on Location Services list. The location service pop-up did not show any more in my subsequent game plays (stop and start the game again).
So I decided to totally delete this test game from my iPad, then checked the Location Service list, my game is no longer on the Location Service list.
So I tried to repeat the same process again and re-installed my game. After finishing installation, I ran the game for the first time and saw no location service pop-up at all. But I went to “Location Services” in “Settings”, my game was back on Location Services list again. The iPad seems to have memorized the location service status (ON or OFF) for my game’s location service. If the status was ON, then deleting the game and re-installing the game. The status automatically set as ON again. If it was OFF, then it will be OFF after re-installation.
*Update - I have submitted this bug to Inmobi. [import]uid: 42593 topic_id: 13266 reply_id: 58275[/import]
Update after speaking to inMobi I tried turning testMode = false and lo! I can now see what look like live ads on iPhone as well as iPad. (Even though my app. is still not live and I haven’t sent inMobi the app URL). With testMode = true I see the gray inMobi test banners, but only on the iPad which makes it kind of poor for testing purposes.
