Hi Naomi,

I’m using TextWrangler build: version 3.5.3 (2890) of Mon, 10 Jan 2011

The Collapse and Expand All Folds menu item is halfway down the View menu on the version I downloaded.

Ahh, you might check the Preferences under the TextWrangler menu item and change the preferences for Menu. The feature might just need exposure.

If you intend to pay for Auto Complete then you can look into BBEdit it is all of TextWrangler with *many more* features.

Think of that as the Daily Build version with all the goodies, where as TextWrangler is the test drive version.

cheers,

OMG, David, I’m using version 2.3 (262) of Sat, 12 Jan 2008. Gosh, I’ve been using some really ancient version of TextWrangler, eh? No wonder what Rodrigo posted above also didn’t make sense to me. (And, hey, Rodrigo, thanks for your tip too!) Sounds like I’d better fetch the updated version.

Thanks, Jayant, for your thoughts on TextWrangler and BBEdit. I think I’ll look into both BBEdit and TextMate (in comparison with what most recent TextWrangler might do for me), and then look at what this Sublime does, and VIM. Plus this Corona Project Manager thingy that comes with SDK…

I’ll do all of that evaluating bits after I’m done with my first game. Can’t wait. I thought I’d be done with it by now, but this extra polishing work has been taking up a lot of time and efforts. It feels like my path stretches forever and ever into the future. (Despite the seemingly-never-ending-path, I still feel every bit of it has been worth all the trouble anyhow.)

Hey Naomi,

Youre welcome!

PS: I am going to evaluate the Sublime Text 2 but I can say that the editor “calls my attention” and its a good point for a beginner as I am right now.
See yah,
Rodrigo

Sublime is neat, TextWrangler I played with but it wasn’t quite right for me.

Eddie was nice for a really simple, plain editor - but TextMate is my absolute favorite  (Jon’s description of it sums it up for me.)

I just downloaded Sublime Text2 and I really like it after I added the Corona Textmate bundle, but there is one thing I can’t get to work; How to get the Corona Terminal output in the console?

I tried typing regular commands there but it doesn’t work, anyone know how to make it work?

Thanks Cindy [import]uid: 65840 topic_id: 17419 reply_id: 74362[/import]

For all you Sublime Text2 users, grab the update!!
There’s a few new very handy features added regarding autocomplete etc, it’s not “true autocomplete” but it’s a lot better than before.

Apart from the updates, there’s one bundle I found useful and that is growl notification when saving files. Search the ST2 forum for the link to the bundle.

Hey @Lano, I got the advice too.

I did not update as yet because am in the middle of one project and so when I saw so many things updated on the list, I was afraid of letting the update run and after be “broken” (eg.: Will our outo-completion as we had setup in the past still be working without any change or will I need to setup that again? Argh.)
Cheers,
Rodrigo. [import]uid: 89165 topic_id: 17419 reply_id: 79402[/import]

Everything works.

You get a popup when you type with available words or variables you have added etc
if you think the icon sucks then you could just grab the one I made, nothing fancy but it just looks a little better in the dock.

About the icon I would like to test yours but I do not know how to change it. :\

if you are on a mac:

right click on ST2 icon in your applications folder --> Show package contents -->Navigate to Resources folder --> Copy the original to a safe place first incase you want the old one back --> copy and paste my icon and when asked to replace the old icon, click yes/ok.

Got it. Thank you for the Bug!

I found an editor in Mac AppStore called CodeRunner, looks good and it’s only $5.
The downside is that there is no documentation on how to add custom keywords(coronaSDK) or how to set up custom build schemes. It has Lua support but it feels like it’s not quite “there” yet as a code editor. A user forum would be nice also.

Check it out if you have 5bucks to spare.

But for now the “top” editor for me is still Sublime text2 and if you install “Package Control” then you can install and maintain plugins a little easier. Github is one useful plugin you can get from PC…
