Fish sample will not run and crashes simulator

Make sure you are running the terminal also. That is where you will get the error output to find out what is wrong. I can speculate that the fish sample code is way outdated and you are using a recent build.

I just did a build using 971 (the public release) and it ran fine on XCode’s simulator as well. We really need to know what error you are getting to help further.

Hi,

To see any errors you can start the “Console” app on your Mac. If you’re running Lion or ML you’ll find it in the folder named “Other” when you open launchpad.
Click ‘Clear display’.
Build the Fishies app for Xcode simulator.

You should be able to see any errors in the Console log when the app tries to start. [import]uid: 70847 topic_id: 35898 reply_id: 142834[/import]

What is launchpad I can’t find it and also are you corona staff or what does enterprise dev mean? [import]uid: 211931 topic_id: 35898 reply_id: 142979[/import]

I’m not Corona staff. I’ve just paid for an Enterprise license of Corona SDK.
As you might know the different licenses they currently offer are: Free->Indie->Pro->Enterprise.

Launchpad is a feature in OSX Lion and Mountain Lion which shows your apps similar to the way apps are shown on an iPhone/iPad. It’s found in the dock at the bottom of the screen and the icon looks like a small rocket. Launchpad is not available on Snow Leopard or earlier.

An other way to look for the Console app is to use Spotlight. It’s found in the menu bar at the top-right of the screen and looks like a magnifying glass. Click it and enter: Console
The Console app should show up as a “Top Hit”. Clicking it will launch the app.
Follow my previous instructions to see any errors you get when you build for Xcode simulator.

@russm305:
I can compile and run the fish sample with no problems using the latest build. Also the Terminal will not output any errors from the Xcode simulator. [import]uid: 70847 topic_id: 35898 reply_id: 143011[/import]
