Friction physics

Am I doing something wrong here… Logically, friction would be two objects rubbing agains each other - but my assumption by placing a value to it would mean that there would be a “stickiness” to it - is this correct?

If so, then it doesn’t work, because if you place two flat item atop each other and make tahr bottom object movable in an x direction, it slides with no reaction to the upper object.

If not, then is there a “resistance” factor so that if you moved the lower object - the upper object would move as well, BUT without losing is physical properties. Meaning, if it is hit by another object and there is enough force to knock it off the lower, it would be effected by gravity and fall.

I have tried all the joint function as well - there just seems to be a perameter missing somewhere or I’m missing it or ho w to do it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I have this exact same problem in my game. I have tried to set higher friction values, but it really makes no difference. I have also experimented with many types of joints, but no success.
Have you found any solution?

if you could post sample code, we can try to help you… [import]uid: 48521 topic_id: 9376 reply_id: 43691[/import]
