getTunerVolume is a show stopper!

getTunerFrequency() barely works. For comparison I downloaded a free chromatic tuner & it works perfectly, whereas the Corona call sometimes temporarily bumps to the correct pitch - via a few incorrect readings - then drifts back off.

Most of the time it’s just plain wrong. I hit an open A on (a semi-acoustic) guitar and it swings between F# and C#. That’s 3 semitones below and 4 above! Then I try same note with free “Epic Tune” app and it goes straight to A and stays there.

I was hoping to use Corona in a music app but it looks like I’ll have to go native.

The tuner API probably shouldn’t have been included at this stage. I can’t see how it can be of any use.

(Though this thread is more about getTunerVolume(), I posted here because the other threads on getTunerFrequency() have died out with no resolution & this thread is at least more recent.) [import]uid: 3953 topic_id: 15758 reply_id: 92664[/import]

Hi,
did somebody get getTunerVolume() to work correctly, pls? Both, Android and iOS?

Come on Corona, get this sorted please!

Please read the Note in the documentation:

http://docs.coronalabs.com/api/type/Recording/getTunerVolume.html

Rob: Thanks for the quick answer. Is it possible to get data from audio buffer some other way?

Not that I’m aware of.
