I.A.P. Tutorials/ blogpost?

Rob, fair point.

Perhaps the answer is to make it mandatory for each new IAP provider to write their own tutorial from a Corona SDK perspective. This would help relieve the workload on your part and also put the accountability back on the new service providers shoulders. If they want us to use their service they need to make it more accessible and understandable etc being the the logic.

How about a blog / tutorial for the Apple IAP though. Lets forget about all the others and get Apple right. Seems like a number of us are still stuck with a the basics. Thanks so much for considering this.

Kerem

I believe I have sorted IAP out for iOS (in a very basic sense) but I would like to echo ksan’s sentiments. I appreciate the perspective Rob but from my “mid level” of Corona experience I still think a tutorial that covers a very basic implementation for one platform would still be immensely useful. Thank you for your help

+1 for a good tutorial on ios. I am currently using the “easy IAP…” module found in the code share because I am too afraid of implementing the “regular” IAP code…I think once we understand the concept of IAP correctly on IOS then all the other stores can be dealt with.

Besides if anybody can make a complex issue like IAP look easy, only you (Rob) or Brent can:) You guys tutorials are first rate!

Thanks.

2nd-ed

This week’s blog post is already committed, but maybe I can do something in the next couple of weeks.

sounds great Rob,  it’s always good to have a tutorial focused view of an area to complement the Api/guide type approach to the topic…

This is wonderful news! Thank you very much for being in tune with our needs. Most appreciated.

@Rob - Is there a way to test IAP for IOS apps prior to the app release?  This would be great to cover off in the tutorial.

In fact can you give me a heads up now as to whether this is possible?   I can see in the guide for Android there is a reference to http://developer.android.com/google/play/billing/billing_testing.html which seems to provide a way.

For IOS however I haven’t yet found a way?  I also note my little app isn’t ready/released, and when I’ve setup the IAP in iTunes Connect it says the following.  So I’m not sure I can actually get an IAP “in place” in iTunes connect yet to be able to test in some manner anyway? Do I really have to release my app without IAP and then test my IAP as part of a release 2 & hopefully be able to test it as part of pre-release 2 testing?

  • Your first In-App Purchase(s) must be submitted with a new app version. Select them from the In-App Purchases section of the Version Details page and then click Ready to Upload Binary.
