I need your help on the Android Market! Any advice is much appreciated.

As far as how this process is going, I am now up to 18 downloads and 3 reviews. When I monitor my apps, I like to pick something to search so that I can track if it is moving up or down (in this case I search the market for: Kids Trucks). The app has moved up in the rankings by about 7 spots since release, but is still about half way down on the second page.

When I search for “kids trucks” there are apps that pop up that are really not related which are before mine which is frustrating. When trying to take a look as too why some of the apps are above mine, I did a Google search for those apps. I found that all of those apps had numerous random websites linking to the Android Market. They were not reviews or anything special, but all the websites that list apps to try and make money. When I searched my own, it was clear that my app had not populated on these lists.

  1. I am wondering (and suspect) if my app will automatically populate to these websites? (the main benefit being that it likely drives up SES and Google uses their search engine as part of the Market search criteria)
  2. If it does automatically populate, is there a way to speed up the process?
  3. If not, who should I be contacting?

Things have improved on the Android Market, but it still has not translated to much in any earnings. Kids Trucks Preschool Lite is now getting between 15 to 30 downloads a day. It stays in the number 2-4 slots in my search for “kids trucks.”. I also have been getting a review every othe day now on average. The conversion rate has been pretty low (about 1-2%). I’ve had more success in a day using alternate markets like
slideMe.org than months on the android market and getjar combined. that may say more about my crappy app than anything, but i think there’s an advantage to these markets. for one, they get preinstalled on a bunch of different android devices and are likely the first place people will go to get apps.

i’m also trying

mobango.com
and
appslib.com

here’s the setup on slideMe
