In App Purchase Amazon, Kindle, Nooks

Honestly, I get most of my revenue from Amazon via app purchases, so +1 to Amazon over Nook… it’s just a hotter market.  I want to change over to a free model with in-app purchases for both Nook and Amazon, which isn’t available.  Clearly that’s been a big topic of contention in this thread.  I’m hopeful that Corona can give us some sort of  timeframe on when it’ll be available.  Even if we have to wait, at least we could all plan around that roll-out date.

David might you have some idea of when Amazon (and secondarily Nook) will be supported?  (it’s been two months since your comment, so hopefully there’s been some internal planning around this).

Thank you!

Got the message from B&N re: rolling out IAP on Nook.  So far we’ve had way more sales on Nook and Amazon than on Apple or Google, so IAP support for ALL platforms is essential to my business at this point.  I gather from this thread that Coronalabs knows the importance of IAP on Amazon, and are acting on it, but I would like to reiterate support for doing the same on Nook.  Hopefully this a no-brainer, easy implementation for Coronalabs once Gluon is live.  But since most of us here are trying to run businesses it would be great if we could get some official confirmation that this is being worked on (and a ballpark timeframe), rather than hang our hats on hopes and prayers.

Most of my Android sales 90%+ are on Amazon and Nook, I have a few iOS apps that sell very well with IAP, we desperately need IAP for Amazon and Nook.

It doesn’t look high priority as it has been almost a year it been requested and it hasn’t been added.

Gang, we’ve been busting our chops to get the plugin-eco system in place so that we can roll these things out sooner.  This is a cart-horse problem and we are very very aware that this is something high on your priority list and we are about to get to the point where the horse has something to pull.

Totally understandable Rob, but would be possible to give a time frame for release of that plug-in ecosystem?  I’m sure it’s being discussed in some other forum threads, but unfortunately I’m not subscribed to any of them, so I’ll just ask it here.  As myself and others have reiterated, a time frame would allow us to plan for the change.  Personally, if it was within the next 2 months, I’d be waiting to launch our next game until that’s ready, so as not to have to fragment my codebase to support IAP for Apple & Google and separately offer it as upfront purchase for Amazon & Nook.

I’m sure you guys want to give yourselves enough time to get the plug-in ecosystem right - and we appreciate that - but we would love to have some ballpark idea of when it’s slotted to be rolled out and what the lag time would be for getting those missing IAP pieces in place.

Thanks Rob.

Hi everyone. The plugins will go into beta really soon (probably next week). Initially there will only be a small number of plugins, but that will grow.

Specifically for this thread, we want to offer plugins for both Amazon and Nook IAP. I am looking into that and we will get them in there one way or another. But I do not have a time frame for them yet.

Thanks for the update David, that’s HUGE!  Looking forward to hearing back about the specifics for the Amazon and Nook IAP plugins as soon as you guys get that sorted out.

Thank you.

Yes - awesome news David thank you!  :)

Great news about the beta !!

Please let amazon IAP be one of the beta plugins and i hope that beta is available for paying customers?

The IAP stuff is so much more important than other stuff its direct relate to making more money

keep up the good work and please let us know how the progress goes

Sounds Super.  I want to be on the list for the Amazon/Nook Beta.  I have 3 months pro but will buy a year’s worth before April is over.

Please, please, please.  I was asking for this months ago.  Kindle market is hot.  Has been since last December.  Thank goodness some others started chiming in.

So now at least we have Nook IAP covered with the new Fortumo plugin.  Thanks CoronaLabs!

But I’m still concerned about the lack of support for the Amazon IAP API.  Fortumo seems to be the way to go for IAP on Nook, but it’s not the “native” way to handle IAP on Kindle.  And while the other monetization features added recently via plugins are welcome, imo those should have taken a back seat to getting the Amazon IAP API enabled for us.  As mentioned in this thread, the Amazon app market is hot (personally selling 10x more on Amazon than Apple or Google Play store), and Amazon Coins have really juiced it.

Is Amazon IAP coming?  Timeframe?  Amazon claims it takes 10 minutes to wire up their IAP, so it should take a Corona engineer 20 minutes to make a plugin out of it, right?

I have a gut feeling Amazon is developing a plugin for Corona.

Please make an IAP plugin. Like others have mentioned, the Amazon Appstore is exploding right now, and we all need an IAP plugin for our apps! Especially with Amazon Coins!

Hey guys - we do want to support Amazon IAP and will do so. Don’t have an ETA yet though.

Amazon IAP +1000!

Cspence, I hope your gut is right.  I see Amazon already provides IAP plugins for Unity and Flash.

David, that’s pretty much what you said 2 months ago, and 5 months ago, and… Any chance you can be a little more transparent about your plans for Amazon?  Is it a technical thing holding it up?  Legal?  Lack of resources?

My impression was that Amazon IAP was being delayed until Gluon launched, but since Gluon went live we’ve seen the release of monetization plugins for services that no one on these boards has requested, and still the Amazon plugin is held back despite the pleadings of many Corona customers.  Doesn’t make sense from where I sit…

HardBoiled - everything at a startup is a matter of resources. We just can’t do everything everyone wants right away. I really am being as transparent as I can: we want to support it and will do it, it’s just a matter of when we get to it.

For you Amazon IAP is a top request, but we have many other thousands of developers that have other *must have* features too

We now have a first batch of monetization partners that start to address what people want/need. Amazon IAP will come.

Amazon IAP +n!   Where n is a large number…
