It is SUCK!! Carlos! Plz fix this!

added you. did you get the request?

i waited 10 mins. sorry i really need to sleep now. it’s 5am here.

may i suggest that Corona Simulator / Compiler have a more robust way of communicating with the server? it seems fragile and it frustrates subscribers who paid.

here waiting [import]uid: 24 topic_id: 5118 reply_id: 29632[/import]

Payback time!

  1. Makesure you PAID for your Corona SDK
  2. Makesure you have a STRONG & STABLE WIFI connection (3G WONT work for me)
  3. Delete the build/compiled app from your iPhone, iPhone simulator, check iPhone running app too if you are using 4G (it WILL help)
  4. do whatever Carlos said which not mentioned here
  5. try build your app again

hope that help~ the most useful trick from me is no. 3 [import]uid: 10373 topic_id: 5118 reply_id: 29917[/import]

Rememberr, you must have added your device UDID to your provisioning profile, download the profile to the provisioning profiles directory, start Corona from scratch and build using that profile for device…

https://developer.anscamobile.com/content/building-devices-iphoneipad#Provisioning_Profiles

Matt [import]uid: 8271 topic_id: 5118 reply_id: 29949[/import]

I have the UUID profile, which I have used successfully to test some Xcode and even Cocos2D projects in my iPhone device.

As I was pretty impressed with the ease of what Corona can do, I was an early subscriber (paid $99, order #4070) - I hope this doesn’t in any way lower my standing relative to others who paid more.

I only recently tried testing a simple Corona app in my iPhone device. The app works fine in the Corona Simulator, but when I run in my iPhone, the trial message pops up.

I have tried all ways suggested in this thread and other threads - deleted the com.ansca* from Preferences folder, re-run Corona Simulator, re-authorize Coronoa Simulator, closed the app in iPhone background and deleted it from iPhone, got a “good” internet connection (dug out my old ethernet cable and plugged straight to broadband router), etc.

3 frustrations:

(1) How do I check whether I’m a full subscriber and not a trial user within the Corona Simulator? I want know at least the Corona server recognizes me as a paying subscriber. Can a simple message be printed in the About window to tell me I’m a subscriber?

(2) Why does Corona need a “good” network connection for it to work??? Carlos said internet over 3G doesn’t work - is there a specific reason why? 3G works fine for almost all other purposes. That said, I am NOT using 3G. I have full broadband access - web surfing, emails, torrents, downloads, gmail, you-name-it etc ALL works fine for me.

(3) Before an iOS build, or even during the build, can Corona Simulator inform me that it is a trial build? At least I don’t have to load it into my iPhone (via Xcode) in order to find out it’s still trial.

If any of the above 3 frustrations is addressed, it will at least save me some time in troubleshooting.

Here’s a screen shot of what I’ve been seeing these few days. I hope other subscribers can all quickly try out whether their Corona is a trial or paid version. Don’t wait till after you have invested all your time learning Corona only to discover it’s impossible for you to get a paid build of your app loaded into iPhone.

Reformat and reinstall mac and install corona

lol just joking ^_______^

I would strongly suggest that you completely clean your mac… preferences, cache, etc… I tested corona as trial for almost 3months before being a subscriber and no hitch at all.

Don’t take your frustration out on Ansca people because it probably is your fault or your mac. One thing that I noticed that when you install your app on your machine, it is simpler to completely remove previous version of your app from the device and make sure you replace the app in itunes.

cheers and good luck!

[import]uid: 13978 topic_id: 5118 reply_id: 30090[/import]

hey, have you did what i said?
REMOVE the app from the simulator
Or remove from your iPhone before reinstall the app into the simulator/iPhone?

then ALWAYS build with STRONG & STABLE WIFI connection and NOT 3G

that’s CRITICAL [import]uid: 10373 topic_id: 5118 reply_id: 30095[/import]

weilies - Yes, I’ve tried. I’ve even installed various versions of Corona Simulator. I’ve also cleaned each Corona Simulator - it asked me to login again after cleaning. I have also completely removed the trial app from my iPhone. Many many times.

Maybe you can help with 2 questions:

(1) Do you know how to check if Corona Simulator recognizes me as a paid subscriber or a trial user?

(2) When I do an iOS build, does Corona Simulator tell me whether it is building a trial app or a paid app?

You also mentioned “then ALWAYS build with STRONG & STABLE WIFI connection and NOT 3G”, which you said is “CRITICAL”.

While I still don’t understand why this is so important (Carlos never explained), I now suspect that because I’m in Singapore (a far away island country in Asia), my network connection with Corona’s servers may not be as “STRONG & STABLE” as required. If this is the case, I may consider asking for a refund of $99 (order #4070) - Corona staff can check their servers that I have never successfully done a proper build (I always only got trial builds).

Thanks to all for listening and helping.

hey, i am MALAYSIAN who now currently in SINGAPORE!!
Mayb we can meet up, i can help u trace it?

Singapore WIFI connection has no problem with it unless you are using public WIFI.

Have you ever install Window ver Corona? or Mac ver Corona (FREE)? In different machine?

If yes, Carlos might be able to detect it. As what i understand from him, due to the multiple install factor might also cause the invalid validation during build time. That’s why i always hit the trial error. There is nothing much else i know to resolve the issue

Daniel,

I am also from Singapore.
I always got the same trial problem as you at home.
Luckily, it works all the time in my office eventhough the speed is much slower than my home one.
No idea why ??

cheers [import]uid: 13125 topic_id: 5118 reply_id: 30144[/import]

Perhaps only Carlos can explain that, lol
It’s like resolve once and for all
I don’t hv that issue anymore since it resolved

The no 1 rule for me is always stick with one working machine [import]uid: 10373 topic_id: 5118 reply_id: 30167[/import]

I only use one mac book.
[import]uid: 13125 topic_id: 5118 reply_id: 30169[/import]

i have reset your account here trice.

i am on skype

screen share so i can see what is going on

why do we need a stable connection? cos we build on the server and we need to maintain a connection with your desktop. how a) would we send the bits back to you and b) know if the bits are ready if the connection is lost or if during a transfer of the bits a socket is dropped? then you will have a malformed app.

c. [import]uid: 24 topic_id: 5118 reply_id: 30217[/import]

Carlos, my builds were successful BUT only a TRIAL app was produced.

Apparently, your servers are smart enough to produce a trial app under “unsatisfactory” network conditions, but yet were so MISTRUSTFUL that they refuse to send a proper non-trial build to paying users.

Can you kindly relax the checking at server side so paying customers are less frustrated?

I’ve already added anscamobile in skype long ago, but you have not accepted the add request. Please add my skype id daniel.chong.jt

I will look for you when I next see you online.
[import]uid: 8985 topic_id: 5118 reply_id: 30244[/import]

djung7, you said you face the same problem only using your home broadband connection, but not in office.

I know both Starhub and Singtel change their IP addresses frequently. I suspect Corona’s servers try to detect IP changes and penalize users whose IP changes while the build is taking place.

In your office, I suppose the IP address is fixed.

I have yet to try with a fixed IP. My office doesn’t allow personal laptops to connect to the network.
[import]uid: 8985 topic_id: 5118 reply_id: 30453[/import]

Daniel,

Great analysis, you could be right.
I tried to build my apps on a few fast connection place and still failed.
I am going back to my office next week & will check who’s the provider.
[import]uid: 13125 topic_id: 5118 reply_id: 30479[/import]

am on skype right now [import]uid: 24 topic_id: 5118 reply_id: 30482[/import]

I can’t talk to u now Carlos,
i am outside tethering using my phone & will be meeting someone soon.
[import]uid: 13125 topic_id: 5118 reply_id: 30485[/import]

Daniel,

Just made a quick dash to my office, apparently, they use cyberway and static ip.
I have the screenshot, but don’t know how to upload it to this forum.

[import]uid: 13125 topic_id: 5118 reply_id: 30492[/import]

Weilies, are you using a static IP?

Have you tried using a home broadband connection? Both Singtel and Starhub home broadband use dynamic IP addresses in the sense that different TCP connections from same browser or app can have different IP addresses.

Carlos, can you kindly relax the checking at your server side? At the least, relax the checking for the same IP address.
