Missing Push Entitlement after iTunes Connect upload?

I tried 996 and then 1013…same result.

Was the Unity 3D discussions about this issue very recent? Since we just hit it yesterday…would be curious.

I spend several hours last night trying everything I could think of. All our uploads to Apple over the last 18 months have been super smooth. Not sure what is triggering this email alert from Apple.

I am hoping Corona can help shed some light on it as well. [import]uid: 39506 topic_id: 35270 reply_id: 140233[/import]

Getting the same message with 2 apps I uploaded an update of today. Dont use push notification so not sure why it happens. Did not get the message for the new app I uploaded two days ago. [import]uid: 17969 topic_id: 35270 reply_id: 140240[/import]

The same problem with Corona based apps but also with Adobe AIR apps. I checked Adobe developer forum and they receive the same e-mails from Apple. [import]uid: 7038 topic_id: 35270 reply_id: 140872[/import]

+1, used build 1013

But I really think that this is a warning and will ignore it for now. [import]uid: 107675 topic_id: 35270 reply_id: 140313[/import]

I received the same notification after uploading an update today. As above, my app does not use push notification and never has. [import]uid: 111970 topic_id: 35270 reply_id: 140351[/import]

Just wanted to follow up on this. I opened a ticket with Apple, and received the below response:

If you do not wish to use Push Notifications for your app, you are not required to take any action at this time.

Thank you for posting this gibsonpa!
I also had the same error and I’ve been going crazy trying to fix it. [import]uid: 96835 topic_id: 35270 reply_id: 140420[/import]

Ah, I just got the same thing. Thanks for posting your response from Apple. However, please update us on whether or not the app gets approved. Even if they say nothing is required, I would not be surprised if a reviewer said otherwise.

I put my app up with this error as well, so I’ll post back if it makes it through review too. [import]uid: 125079 topic_id: 35270 reply_id: 140520[/import]

I submitted an app update last night (Jan 26) and I also got an e-mail from Apple for the “Missing Push Notification Entitlement” issue. I don’t have push notifications in the app. My app status is now waiting for review so I’m hopeful it will go through. [import]uid: 27976 topic_id: 35270 reply_id: 140560[/import]

I got the same email and error.

Hopefully this doesn’t cause a problem.

I did some research and based on what I can see, the Apple message is a warning but not a rejection.

Apparently, Apple recently started statically analyzing binaries for APNS-related iOS API calls, and they seem to be sending these warnings just in case the app actually uses remote push, but didn’t set up the provision profile correctly for remote push.

So we think you should be okay, but let us know if you actually see something beyond a warning! [import]uid: 26 topic_id: 35270 reply_id: 140728[/import]

Just wanted to follow up…our update from Apple was approved! Guess it was some sort of warning. Good luck everyone. [import]uid: 39506 topic_id: 35270 reply_id: 140834[/import]

Thanks, Gibson! That’s great to hear. Good luck with your app as well! [import]uid: 125079 topic_id: 35270 reply_id: 140838[/import]

The same problem with Corona based apps but also with Adobe AIR apps. I checked Adobe developer forum and they receive the same e-mails from Apple. [import]uid: 7038 topic_id: 35270 reply_id: 140872[/import]

Hi everyone,

Just my two cents too (more evidence is always good). I also just got this warning from apple upon submission. I will report back when it is approved or rejected. [import]uid: 87249 topic_id: 35270 reply_id: 142575[/import]

As a note, my three apps that got this notice all went through fine. Also, I know that cross-compiled Flash apps are going through the same thing. [import]uid: 125079 topic_id: 35270 reply_id: 142589[/import]

Received the warning Using 2013.1025, app submitted Feb 13, 2013. We’re not using Push for anything, so it will hopefully be fine. I will report back when we hear something new.

It seems Apple could cross-reference whether or not the Push service has been Enabled for that app in its App ID data from the Provisioning Portal… if Push is not Enabled, then the warning should not be deployed.

Does Corona bundle in some or all of the Push API elements in every build? [import]uid: 42286 topic_id: 35270 reply_id: 142744[/import]

Just disregard that warning. Apple started sending those warnings automatically about 3 weeks ago, but they don’t mean anything (at least not to my builds).
Every time I submit an update I get that warning, but my updates are approved just fine.

I don’t think it has anything to do with the Corona build, because this change happened as I was uploading an update. My first update got no warnings, but then I rejected my own update, and re-uploded a new binary (with just cosmetic changes) and I started getting the warning. I even tried older Corona builds and I got the same warning. Then any other upload ever since always gets a Missing Push warning.

Apple changed something on their side. [import]uid: 96835 topic_id: 35270 reply_id: 142749[/import]

i got this message as well, the app still says waiting for review. hopefully it goes through [import]uid: 99036 topic_id: 35270 reply_id: 142999[/import]
