Hi guys. Yes, you can integrate any native library for QR codes with Corona Enterprise today.
We are evaluating when we might be able to add it to Corona SDK (or through a plugin), but don’t have an ETA at this point.
I would definitely love having a built-in QR/bar code reader as a plugin. Even a cheesy one that just takes over control of the whole app until the user is successful scanning a code or dismisses it.
The online solution would work fine under ideal conditions, but that is not particularly realistic for lay users, where there could be a lot of back-and-forth until the code is readable.
Has there been any more progress on this front since this discussion tapered off?
I’ve adapted creftan’s github code (one or two things to fix in the lua and made the json.php output valid JSON). But I second yo1, something a bit more user-friendly and integrated would be really cool. What would be really good is if the phone OS developers themselves did it, so you could request a QR code as you request a camera picture.
