Thanks Rob for the input. At least people will know that there is no ETA on HTML5.
I’ve just gave 3 votes… Still, the most popular request is to develop under Linux… Really???

Rob: Thanks for your quick and forthright response. I won’t plan on HTML5.
On your voting point, though, I suspect that few folks will request or upvote a feature that you’ve already announced and that you’ve been shipping in beta form for nearly 11 months. (This is putting aside for the moment of whether feature requests are negatively correlated with actual feature implementation.)
You might as well say “As an FYI, stability and performance for our existing iOS and Android SDK APIs are not in the top 25 requested features on the feedback site. So you may want to add more votes to signal to engineering how important this is.”
@corona273, this is incredibly unfair to our hard working engineers. Fixing bugs is not feature requests. We spend a lot of time on stability and performance of our existing APIs. We’ve fixed several regression bugs the past week alone. We spent most of December and January dealing with Apple’s 64 bit requirement so that you can continue to publish your products.
There are many things that go into deciding what features we work on. How hard it is, how long it will take, business factors and so on. Sometimes we come up with a cool idea like HTML 5 then other things get in the way that we have to do and we may not get back to it for a while. We work to get things done when we can based on the resources. We have to balance out requests vs. bug fixes. We have to prioritize.
Rob
Ok, Thank you Rob.
If HTML5 is still actively developed, can you re-open “Build HTML5 (beta test)” in daily builds version?
Let us demo to our customer HTML5 games with corona.
And we keep wait for you to finish HTML5.
Thank you
The problem is “How to play game in browser” or “play game in windows/mac”.
If HTML5 is not easy to release with corona, maybe “browser plugin (ex:flash player, unity3d player, java applet)” or “export corona project to exe/dmg”.
I have some project need to play with windows/mac, and I wait corona HTML5 for about one year.
We must to Make a Difficult Decision.
Corona and Lua is Friendly~
Yeah it sucks… I’m sponsoring a game jam team but the games need to be able to run in a web player for submission. Looks like I’ll have to look at unity or cocos2d-js
With corona’s development speed… it would have been good publicity
