I think finding an “unbiased” opinion on anything is impossible. Everyone is influenced by something either directly or indirectly and a lot of times they are not even aware of it.
I think what works out best for the purpose of an SDK search is use a small project and code that project in each sdk using the same design and see which one comes out on top for you. Then, weigh out the limitations of each SDK and what that is worth to you.
That is what I learned the hard way, since i’m still so damn new to programming I stumble across a lot of stuff and think “oh that will totally work” and then realize “Someone slap me now I was completely wrong” lol.
Story of my life!
Try out Corona SDK, you’ll be amazed how fast you can deploy a game. I think the initial stuff with display objects and all that stuff is easy. It’s all the “back end” stuff that gets insane like scores, saving levels, leader boards and some database stuff. Luckily, Peach Pellen has an awesome website I learned a ton from on those things I mentioned at techority.com. She has an ego class, which is a lua module you can use to save and load data from, such as highscores, level lock unlock etc etc. Whatever you want!
Hmm, I have ranted on haven’t I? Ok, done. Enjoy, eat ice cream, dance around in a speedo, whatever makes you happy…eh lol.
