Terrible Performance on Samsung Galaxy S, crashes on Tegra Devices

from what I know Galaxy S can only have about a fps of 57. from my experience I set the config.lua file to 60 fps and get smoother and higher fps.

I use the latest stable corona build and my android games are compatible with over 300 other android devices.

for those noobs out there that don’t know about config.lua file check out this link

Some Blast Monkeys players complain about weird lag issues on the Galaxy S.

Lag:

Then there’s this video showing that it runs fine under CM7 on the same device:

What’s up with that? Is this the same sort of lag you are experiencing, or is it something else entirely?

I see similar problems on Galaxy S (even with simply two-image background scrolling without physics!).
I also see that sounds are delayed on Galaxy S.

Carlos promised (over 7 months ago…) to “monitoring this closely” but we don’t have any more reply from Ansca :frowning:

A Blast Monkeys player e-mailed me about this, and then e-mailed saying he found a fix for it. Unfortunately it involves a factory rest, but can anyone else confirm this? His instructions are in this blog post.

Ahhhg! WTF! I just updated my Samsung Captivate (Galaxy S) from 2.2 to 2.3.5 Gingerbread the official and correct way to upgrade the phone using Att and Samsung Kies mini. I tested the game I’m working on (no changes to game were made before or after upgrade) and it now runs slower. It use to run smooth at 57 fps now it runs at 47 fps and choppy.

I’m currently using build 721 of Corona. Does Corona have issues with Gingerbread or is it just Galaxy S? [import]uid: 38820 topic_id: 9133 reply_id: 81085[/import]
