It appears irc.freenode.net is blocked from China (when my VPN is working, which is rare, I would LOVE to join, because I am DYING to get some help on a project I am working on. I also tried using the one at http://coronalabs.com/community/irc/ but you all use google captcha which is of course blocked.
I believe you can use the web interface and browsers that provide a free tunnel. Like Opera with enabled Opera Turbo. There are others, I am sure you can find something working good enough.
how do I get this opera turbo? I have opera open but I don’t see it. Sounds interesting. Willing to try!
You can also use a bouncer. If you have server somewhere you use that connect to IRC and then you connect to the server which is acting as a bouncer. Bouncers also have benefits like keeping the channel history for you.
