+1 for native desktop Windows/Mac

As more and more users ask me if i have my app also on windows/mac (right now only on mobile devices… I say +1 for native Desktop Windows/Mac support.

I guess everyone understand that special mobile features will not work.
But for the rest of features I guess it would be enough for games and apps.

That would open a new market , for example posting in the growing Mac App Store.

Any plans for that?

+2  [import]uid: 13859 topic_id: 16137 reply_id: 60090[/import]

+1 agreed strongly. Even if Someone could hijack the simulator and replace the iPhone frame with a window pic. And change the window dimensions. Can e done cas tere is a resource file for each phone. And each phone changed te size of the window. [import]uid: 66719 topic_id: 16137 reply_id: 60094[/import]

the main concerns here @klapicus1 is that when you distribute the simulator, you have to distribute the source code in plain text.

If you have to *really* get your app working on the Desktop, you can try Love2D that uses Lua.

However, it will be better if Ansca will create a desktop version compiler.

+1 from me as well.

I am working with apps for schools and there is a trend to work with smart boards (digital version of white board). It would be nice to have an app running on tablets and smart board.

Thanks [import]uid: 40334 topic_id: 16137 reply_id: 60663[/import]

-1 : I’d rather Ansca focus on getting the two current mobile platforms up to speed. And if they’ve got spare resources look at WM7 as the next platform.

If you want an easy Mac/Win development environment take a look at Blitz Basic. Not as easy since you still have to port your code from Lua but still better than Obj-C/C#. [import]uid: 11393 topic_id: 16137 reply_id: 61590[/import]

thanks for advice… to be true… yes i looked into other frameworks.
BUTTTTTT

I LOVE CORONA… it changed my whole Mobile Coding (and i am coding at all for over 25 years)
For that… i learn some patience… and speak out what I am looking for and from my talks with
Carlos and Walther… I am sure… many good things will come…

Sometimes it just need also our Energy… to show what we are really into and what we need.

There are for sure More from the Ansca Team reading this lines.
It does not help to be unfriendly … but over time… as much we come together and share the same voice… for sure it will be heard

… to repeat +1 … we like to have a MAC/PC App with our code

cheers

Yeah. Repeating +1 here.

When you look at the HTML/Javascript combo that something like PhoneGap offers (though still in it’s infancy), it does become readily apparent that for Corona to continue to stay viable, they need to offer desktop and mobile app service. Sure, PhoneGap is currently too young to be viable for most of us… But I’d venture to guess that within a year, you’ll see at least two or more “full” options for coding the same language for web as native mobile apps.

Hopefully Corona is and plans to be one of those…

This would require a few modifications to Corona and some extra features in order to be viable.

Once the feature set of Corona (see roadmap) is closer to having the core feature set implemented then I think that would be the best time for Corona to support desktop publishing also  [import]uid: 84637 topic_id: 16137 reply_id: 61849[/import]

+1 from me. Really killer idea. -David
