1 Year Later

It has been one year since I first open my company on May 30, 2011. I’m writing this tell you how my success has grown over a year.

When I first open my company I had no support from no one, no believed that my company could be successful. My company first app took of in June 27. My first app was made using Gamesalad (that was the only developing site I found, besides Objective-C being to hard) My first app became a huge failure sort of with just only 20 paid downloads. But from that day I never gave up. I kept on making apps after apps, but all of them became a failure. But I learned from what apps are good and by October I made my 6th app using Gamesalad. After that is were I met Ansca Corona SDK. I was very skeptical about short coding more play (I think that how it goes). Anyways I tried Corona out with zero knowledge of programming and no one to help me learn it except the Corona community, and Peach. Once I met Ansca Corona I started playing around with physics, and coding and switching scene. I was so happy I could do that in coding. I learn the very basic in about 5 days. After that I decided to make my first app. So I decided to make a Minecraft Guide. I was very excited to make it. I worked hard day and night making the app. Took me one month to complete with only basic coding knowledge, and plus +30,000 lines of code (woah)
Once I launch Minecraft Guide (now is iMinecraft Guide) it went well the first week. After the holiday when Apple closed the developing site. I saw my paid app sales take off, and never go down. From there is were my company finally took off, and never went back. I knew that from there it was going to be a great trip down the road. Then I started launching more apps:
Enix:$0.99
Minigames: FREE
Super Craft: $0.99
Deceased City: FREE
Minecraft Quiz: FREE
All these apps was made using Ansca Corona. I considered them my best apps created. Some of these apps did well, and some not so. I’m 15 now and I can say this but if you put a lot of hope, and never give up you can defiantly be successful.

Deceased City is my first original app with original graphics, and has become a success free app with +6,000 downloads in about a month, and 3,300 game center players. [import]uid: 17058 topic_id: 26989 reply_id: 326989[/import]

@Naomi thanks I tried my best. Even though I know very basic coding still… I still feel like I can manage to make a decent app.

@Danny thanks I wrote this so everyone who reads this still have a chance… everyone can achieve you just have to make efficient smart moves, and be very consistent that you can do it

Great inspirational story. Remember that Angry Birds was Rovio’s 42nd app before it catapulted them into the stratosphere. If you’re starting at 15 and don’t stop, I guarantee you’ll do wonders by the time you’re 21.

My little backstory: I started developing when I was 9 on Radio Shack’s TRS-80, then moved over to the IBM PC. I ended up creating shareware that circulated around the globe, but I somehow managed to change passions to music creation, and it’s been a long road back. Needless to say, had I stayed a hardcore programmer, I think my situation would be much different, but at least the creative side from my music days have helped shaped my programming style and perspective.

Good luck and best wishes!

well done [import]uid: 118379 topic_id: 26989 reply_id: 110289[/import]

@BeyondtheTech I never realize that Rovio Mobile had so much trouble in creating games. But they make a lot of games and they still sell, I still consider that success. But anyways thanks everyone for the support. And I hope I reach to the college of my choice which is MIT to become more success independently. Thanks for sharing! I am currently working on my third app (second free app). I have quite a bit of a ways to go to catch up to you though! I wish you much success! [import]uid: 50511 topic_id: 26989 reply_id: 110304[/import]

Thanks again @Royman I guess catching up you might need, but if study the app market well you should know what type(s) of games are famous. [import]uid: 17058 topic_id: 26989 reply_id: 110307[/import]
