$10 eCPM GUARANTEED. Meet RevMob!

Hi,

What is the correct way of enable and disable ad units via placement ID’s?

I can disable an ad unit if I remove the placement ID in the revmob dashboard, but how to enable it again properly?

Or is it not possible to re-enable it again without submitting a new version of my app to the appstore?

Thanks!
ps. I posted this question a few days ago in the ‘other third-party tools’ but got no response. [import]uid: 106768 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 140630[/import]

@Gui

please fix dashboard panel once and for all  its completely unproductive, the only nice thing now is reporting, which works great. Would be nice to add checkbox to hide inactive records (0 impressions).

Any API for reporting btw ?

Hey Bladko, I ended up writing a php script to hit the revmob site, grab the authenticity token, log in to the console, fetch the reports for each app, and then parse the DOM to grab the revenue data. I’ve had that cron’d up for a while to pull their data in like I do from other vendors that have APIs. If that’s useful to you let me know.

No docs :frowning: Their service is great, but the documentation is hopelessly out of date.
I’ve been in contact with them about this some time ago, and they’re working on new documentation which I hope will be released sooner rather than later.

As it is now, the only way I’ve gotten info is to open their lua module and hunt for clues… [import]uid: 70847 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 141299[/import]

@marshman

I would be interested in such a script. [import]uid: 58777 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 140686[/import]

Thanks Paulo!

One more question, what is the correct way to use placement IDs with the openAdLink method? [import]uid: 94248 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 140753[/import]

HI
Today, I check my status report .
Find something strange that the IR (Install rate) drop sharply .
Normally ,My IR is about 0.5% , but today it only below 0.15%.
Is anyone have the same case (IR big drop) in 2/3/1013 ?
[import]uid: 143797 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 141403[/import]

Yep, my figures today are way down on usual, eCPM $0.27 - my guess is a campaign finished for an app that interested people, or a new one was launched that people don’t want - unless there is actually a problem with revmob. [import]uid: 93133 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 141406[/import]

That’s what I want figure out . What’s the problem.
Because in my country, revmob do not have ads to show. So I can not identify what’s the problem.
I know the new ads app would change the IR and eCPM.
the other case i see before (Revmob just show up here) that the ads App do not follow remove’s rule.
after user install and play the app. it do not send info to revmob. So the user always got the app that he have been installed. and we do not increase any install accounting . maybe someone can have a try.

[import]uid: 143797 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 141409[/import]

same here…eCPM stats are way down. [import]uid: 58777 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 141413[/import]

4.1.1 release: http://sdk.revmob.com/corona#changelog

@ivke2006: you must not remove the placement id after you release the app. you must enable/disable it.

@Bladko: this feature is still in our pipeline

@JandyCo: Check the 4.1.1 release, but read the change log to use the placement id directly in the objects. Any doubts, you can check the sample app, I included an example of usage for each ad unit.

ahh…just (de)activate the run state…very obvious… but somehow I didn’t thought in that direction.

Thx! [import]uid: 106768 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 140809[/import]

now you are saying not to remove placement id if it was live before ? i wonder why my impression are so low… thanks !!

Tom [import]uid: 111283 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 140814[/import]

Hi guys,

GREAT news! I started to getting Revmob revenue! The app went live last night so no much to show for but here today’s numbers:

Day: 2013-01-29
Impressions 421
Clicks: 65
Installs: 2
IR: 3.08%
CRT: 15.44%
eCPM: $12.11
Revenue: $5.10

Now the questions!

1- Are these number decent giving your experience or they sucks!

2- I “think” (I need to check on that but I am pretty sure) That I took advantage of the initial kind offer by Revmob to guaranty an eCPM of $10**. It seems that i am doing better with $12.11 but i am trying to figure out if my revenue should not be $20 since I had 2 clicks? Am I wrong with my assumption (probably!) Also is that guaranty has a time limit (assuming again I am in)?

Thanks again for your guys helping get to this point with Revmob and of course big THANKS to the Revmob team. I think right now it looks like it is going a good source of revenue!

By the way if you would like to check out my free version of Space Command, here the link.

** Gui, Paulo: could you check my status about the $10 eCPM guaranty? THANKS!

Same with me. My IR was abysmal for yesterday and today is looking to be about the same. Oh well… maybe it’s an app that no one cares to install. [import]uid: 79620 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 141463[/import]

Hello guys.

I am SO sorry for the long delay (been traveling and busy with life…) Anyway thanks so much for the Revmob numbers. It really helps to see what how other people are doing. So far even so my numbers are low, I am extremely happy with Revmob. In return for the number your shared, here are mine so far. Like I said, very little but encouraging. The app got featured in the action and adventure categories yesterday so I am hoping that it will get better…

2013-02-04 31 10 0 0.00% 32.26% $1.94 $0.06
2013-02-03 310 86 1 1.16% 27.74% $8.19 $2.54
2013-02-02 412 90 2 2.22% 21.84% $4.98 $2.05
2013-02-01 358 97 1 1.03% 27.09% $4.97 $1.78
2013-01-31 324 76 1 1.32% 23.46% $7.75 $2.51
2013-01-30 431 109 3 2.75% 25.29% $9.88 $4.26
2013-01-29 482 81 2 2.47% 16.80% $10.58 $5.10

What I am trying to figure out what affect the eCPM? It is also obvious from the numbers that I need to dramatically increase my impressions. So far I show a full screen ad at the app start and then every 3 gameplays. I may experiment with that but I think I simply (hum…) need to get a lot more downloads! So far 250/day (started at 1000/day when released 1/28)

More work to do!

@LairdGames [import]uid: 100814 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 141467[/import]

Hello guys,

I need your help/suggestions if I can.

I have a free app and I want to make it paid time to time (so I can switch back to free and get a boost in DL)

Anyway the problem of course if a user bought the app when it was set to paid (Revmob was turned off) and I turn on the full screen ads back on (during the period when I want to get more downloads) then the customers who already bought the ads will of course going to start seeing ads. Of course I want to avoid that at all cost!

I thought I may need to give up on the idea to have only one app that I could switch between free (turning the ads ON) and paid (switch the ads OFF) but then I see this in the Revmob docs:

“…Placement ID is an optional feature recommended for experienced publishers. If you want to enable/disable specific ad units in real time…”

Can I use placement to solve the above issue? Or am I miss-understand the use of placement?

Thanks for any suggestions/help

Mo

[import]uid: 100814 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 141485[/import]

I’m afraid that you’ll need to have 2 versions of your app.
Even if using Placement ID’s, there’s no way to determine if a user has paid for the app nor not.

Sidenote:
There is actually one way, but that would involve having a server of your own and register each app installation with a UUID and paid/free status. Every time the user starts the app it would contact your server to get the paid/free status and adjust functionality accordingly. But I think this would be overkill and would introduce a bunch of other complex scenarios that are difficult to handle. [import]uid: 70847 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 141492[/import]

I was affraid that too! I do have two apps now but I was hoping to combine them so not have 2 codes to maintain. And having a server will be an overkill (unless it is CoronaCloud…then we are talking cool!)

I guess I can always have a free version with In-app. This means I have to study on in- app codes…oh boy!

THANK A LOT for taking the time.

Mo [import]uid: 100814 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 141495[/import]

That’s the model I have: Free with IAP and Paid.

I’ve organized my projects so that I only have one source to maintain. From that one source I have multiple targets that have the appropriate modules “linked”. I have a special module called ‘directives.lua’ for each target that specify settings like Paid/IAP/Free, Android/iOS etc.
I can then use ‘if’ statements within the source code to adjust functionality at run-time eliminating the need for multiple sources. [import]uid: 70847 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 141498[/import]
