My newest Corona game, 2048 Zombies, is available on Google Play and Amazon. Hopefully the iOS version will be approved by Apple within the next day or so. It’s totally free.
By far the goriest variant of 2048 I’ve seen. I kept waiting for the zombie animation to start bogging down my tablet but even at a score of 14k+ I didn’t run into any issues. Woulds have loved to hear an occasional ‘Brains!’ when larger groups merged together. The splat sound did get a little repetitive.
Awesome feedback noted Thanks for taking the time to try it and let my know your thoughts. I think the idea of mixing up the merge sounds is good.
I failed to mention before but synchrok’s 2048 clone, in the Corona Code Exchange, was a huge help in getting started with this project.
2048 Zombies is on the Apple App Store now. I can already tell I’ll need to add more achievements for high scores, in my next update. The handful of folks who’ve showed up on the leaderboard are crushing it.
Congrats on making it onto the App Store! I may have “accidentally” made it to the top of the leaderboards this morning. I did notice a couple things on my iPhone 5 you should check for the next release.
- The app isn’t using the full screen. You might be missing the file Default-568h@2x.png in your build. This is a 640x1136 image that activates tall mode on an iPhone 5. See here for more info. I included the one I use below if you want to grab it.
- Banner ads are too high, see screenshot below. Might actually be related to the first point.
- The banner ads seem to disappear when I resume the app and it has to sign back into Game Center.
Good luck and holler when the new version is out. Be happy to check it out again.
I just submitted an update that fixes all three issues. I really, really appreciate you letting me know about that. Thanks!
jandjstudiosllc, the update to fix the display issues and missing ads is out. Thanks again for the feedback.
Checked it out last night and it’s looking much better now. Gave it a new 5 star review too.

Thanks! I left one for you as well. Now to figure out how to get more downloads. It started out good, but they have dwindled down to almost nothing. I’ve experimented a little with Facebook ad campaigns, but not much return on money spent. Of course my investment was very nickel and dime. They do have a nice way to specifically target users, for instance, mobile only, iOS or Android, by OS version, by interests, etc…
