3 or more authorizable machines

Hi,

I think it’s not unusual, that a developer has 3 machines, where an individual developer works on. For me at least. I have a desktop, a laptop (both Windows) and a macbook. So I somehow have always to deauthorize and authorize the machines, which is really anoying. Specially if I’m on my way with one of the notebooks and by murphys law it’s always the machine, which I’m taking with me, which is currently deauthorized.

So, my request would be to be able to authorize 3 (or more) machines, which makes for you not that much of a difference, but as a developer it would be really great.

I put up for this a while back myself. My problem is due to my desktop PC (the mean machine) which definitely gets a license, and a dual boot Macbook pro (Mac license to build). My PC side still has all the progs I’ve purchased over the years to create content, and the Mac is mostly just to build. When I only have the macbook, I have to rely on the release build for the PC bootup…

just ONE more…pleeeeease…

just listen to it…threeee…sounds nice, right…
two! two! sounds kinda forceful doesn’t it… [import]uid: 21331 topic_id: 23126 reply_id: 92472[/import]

This has come up before but really, there are reasons for the current way of doing things.

If you must use three machines you could consider using a test account on one or getting a second license. I use three machines and I use two accounts (both Pro because I want to be able to build constantly) to make that work.

Out of curiosity: What’s the reason that only 2 machines are allowed? I don’t exactly know why, but 2 seems odd to me as well. 3 would be what I expected. ^^ [import]uid: 68079 topic_id: 23126 reply_id: 92569[/import]

Registering on the trial version using other mail address than the one you do use already.

Cheers,

//Update
Ok, got it with a seperate account, but then I can’t use daily build, which is kinda important to me. -.-’
Honestly: It really annoys me… :frowning:

By the way: How do I use the test version?
If I start corona after deauthorizing I have to agree and then to login, which is denied because I already have 2 machines… So I can’t even start the trial… [import]uid: 68079 topic_id: 23126 reply_id: 92573[/import]

Yes, already updated my post. [import]uid: 68079 topic_id: 23126 reply_id: 92576[/import]

I have also mentioned this as a issue. I have a Mac and a PC at the Office that i have my Pro account on. a trial version doesnt work for me at home because i am in need of some of the daily build enhancements.

I understand the way Ansca makes their income is by the licenses.

So how about a tool to help us de-authorize… and Authorize… meaning give my account page on your website the ability to see which computers i have authorized… and then let me de-authorize them from the website.

I live 41.5 miles from the office… and its painful when i forget to de-authorize one of my machines and need to use it at the home office. (our group already has 2 pro licences, but getting multiple pro licenses for 1 staff person isnt in the budget)

Hey guys,

If you need access to a daily build and must run it one three machines at once then yes, need to grab a second license. (An Indie license may be a good option as you could use that on your PC.)

The 2 computer limit and not having an option to deauth without any limits pretty much comes down to fraud prevention.

It’s not that uncommon - in fact you will find that some versions Photoshop also limit to 2 computers that you must have access to to deauth.
