A fully customizable text input method/field

I’d like to request a fully customizable text input method that can go beyond adding simple native text fields. I would like to call the keyboard and stuff like that if possible.

I wonder if that will be included with the CoronaUI update or wut?.

The idea is to have a text input method that doesn’t force you to use a native textfield with the classic white background and things like that.

For example, take the Username change in Tiny Wings, or think of games that help you speed up your writing in IOS. They don’t have a blatantly white textfield. [import]uid: 41025 topic_id: 8717 reply_id: 32461[/import]

I am not very sure, but I guess such change may require custom cloning of textfield and keyboard.

It’s ages since I’ve requested a custom input text box (with native keyboard) to ansca… nothing so far.

I’ve tried building it by myself, using an invisible input textfield with an enterframe listener to update the text on the fake custom textfield… but there are a lot of inconsistencies, and anyway, it just feels wrong using it.

Actually I had to turn down 2 works because input boxes in corona are seriously lacking… I would pay 100$ for a custom input textfield and a multi-line input textbox… :wink:
