A great site for free logo and buttons maker!

Hello guys,

Not sure if you know about this site (which I just found) but it is a great way to make a logo for your app/company. You enter your logo title and choose some per-set style and voila! You can change the font, size… You can do the same for buttons but I really like the logo maker.

Cooltext! I have lost count of the number of times I have used it for buttons. Good share Mo, I’m sure lots of users haven’t heard of it before  [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 24881 reply_id: 100951[/import]

No problem. I have seen similar sites for buttons but never a logo maker as well. It is great for branding your company, app or web site.

Thanks Peach.

do you need to own rights to use fonts in our logos or buttons
or does the site own rights and it extends to us

@jstrahan: Good question. I would assume that we have they the rights to the graphics and fonts but again I am not a lawyer! I am pretty sure they own the graphics but I am not sure for the fonts. Here what it says when you renfer a logo:

“You are welcome to use any of the generated graphics in any way, shape, or form without asking permission. If you’d like to thank us, please tell your friends about this service and consider linking to us”

At least as far are THEY are concerns, we can use this tool results as we pleased…

the reason I asked was the first font I saw was Harry poter and got to thinking that company may have the rights to those fonts but I wouldn’t think that transfer to us also but maybe I’m over thinking it [import]uid: 7911 topic_id: 24881 reply_id: 101097[/import]

Now that brings that up, I am also concern about fonts. The best way is to go to fontdata site and check the font you want to use and make sure it is free to use for commercial use. I think it will be safer that way. Again not a lawyer but that’s I will do if I want to use that site.

that’s why I was questioning it myself [import]uid: 7911 topic_id: 24881 reply_id: 103140[/import]

So for certain a person can use the sites logo generator for a game? Royalty free? Cause I see a few fonts that look like they are from other trademarked games. [import]uid: 128294 topic_id: 24881 reply_id: 103136[/import]

Guys I am a webpage developer and have never paid royalties for a font. I have bought fonts before but never had to pay some ridiculous license fee. Doesnt mean I am not supoosed to of course. I did some digging and came up with this:

"[I]n the US… [a] font face – that is, the look of a font, is not copyrightable. And thats from the free software foundation at www.fsf.org/blogs/licensing/20050425novalis

Does this help at all? [import]uid: 143556 topic_id: 24881 reply_id: 103218[/import]
