About Corona Pro, Ios Question

Hi guys!,

According to the store section, the Corona Pro licence is $349 per year. It give you the feature to export your work from Android to IOS, but!, is that for both Mac and PC? Cuz, i’m a PC user so i guess this version will require an IOS Simulator or something like that . . . in order to compile and generate the file for the apple brand devices.

Thanks and hoping for an answer, i’m really excited about this Corona Lab thing!

You need a Mac to build for iOS. XCode is not necessary as Corona builds the ipa for you. However to submit to the AppStore you need to use the Mac program called “AppLoader” I believe. I am an Android Indie and I have researched  a lot of info on iOS but I’d check with some other people as well.

Thanks a lot! Now i got a clear info about the area and the needs. I guess for the moment Android it will!

And just to clarify a little further, you don’t really export from android to apple, but rather you develop in a neutral language called Lua and then from there you can build for either platform using the one code base.

Hey folks I’m pretty new to app development and I have the same question asjohan.madera5

I’ve developed around 5 apps for Android and I’m confused how to get them onto an iPhone/iPod/etc. All of the coding was done in LUA (using Notepad++). Is it true what Into-It Games said ?

“You need a Mac to build for iOS.”

You need a Mac to build for iOS.  Yes that is true.  However, there is a service called “Mac in the Cloud” that you can use for this.
