About Sound License: Is it ok for sale app to use corona sample resource such as sound effect?

Sound License is also troublesome.

I found some websites said that their sounds are royal-free for any purposes. But after I clicked those site links for further detail, I feel unsure.

Is it ok for sale app to use corona sample resource such as sound effect?

Is there any trusted site about free sound effect and BGM for commercial use to suggest?

Thank you. [import]uid: 65906 topic_id: 17354 reply_id: 317354[/import]

Hey Sleepy, there is another post asking the same question. It has some website links… although I don’t know where it is. [import]uid: 66117 topic_id: 17354 reply_id: 65663[/import]

You;re probably safe using the Apple sound effects that come with the iLife software, since Apple intended them for reuse.

It’s pretty easy using the Garage Band Mac app to tune recordings you make in the field or to create from scratch in Garage Band.

Please don’t use the sample sounds that are used in sample code/demos.

For sounds, your best bet is to find a site offering sounds you can buy for use in commercial products, or creative commons sounds where you provide a credit. Buying them can cost a little but at least you know you’re fully covered then and do not have to worry.

Sounds packs as suggested about are also a good idea.

Thank you everyone.
@peach, don’t worry, I have no intent to use corona resource in the beginning, just want to know.

This is my first time to make sale app.
It may sounds stupid for someone but I am very worried.
If somebody has some suggestions, I want to hear.

I think I will try to find some good trusted sound-provider website(It is better to pay a little for license)

I haven’t used this site but have heard OK things; http://www.jewelbeat.com/

Maybe worth checking out

And don’t worry - the fact you asked means it’s clear you weren’t just planning on doing it

Browse the http://www.freesound.org project, but make sure you look at the licences.

For example, todays sound is:
http://www.freesound.org/people/Gniffelbaf/sounds/82162/

which is licenced under http://creativecommons.org/licenses/sampling+/1.0/
"You are free:
To sample, mash-up, or otherwise creatively transform this work for commercial or noncommercial purposes.
To perform, display, and distribute copies of this whole work for noncommercial purposes (e.g., file-sharing or noncommercial webcasting).

You must attribute the work in the manner specified by the author or licensor (but not in any way that suggests that they endorse you or your use of the work)." [import]uid: 79135 topic_id: 17354 reply_id: 65758[/import]

Hey Peach, I’m guessing the music in your corona for newbies tutorial part 2 isn’t available for commercial purposes, right? [import]uid: 66117 topic_id: 17354 reply_id: 65817[/import]

Theres a free tool called CFXR that can be used for creating soundFX such as jump, explosion, coins extra life etc. You can pretty much make any “Super Mario” type of sound, sort of chiptune-ish.

I don’t have link but I’m sure our friend Google can find it. [import]uid: 13560 topic_id: 17354 reply_id: 65825[/import]

Hey Joe,

I believe that track was one a friend made for me to use, in which case the answer would be no.

There’s a lot like it around, though

Thank you everyone and hope this post will help another beginners like me too.

@peach, link…it is too expensive for me now. But thank you for your effort.

@lano78, about cfxr
I have a question. If I use this software to make the sound effect, the sound effect which I made ,Will be my copyright?
I still do not test the software but as I saw in youtube…
It is kind of adjusting + mixing sounds.

@SleepySheep

Anything you create you own.

Here’s another site for sound and music for games etc

http://www.newgrounds.com/

I think you must put the name of the creator of the files you use in your app/game credits. [import]uid: 13560 topic_id: 17354 reply_id: 67279[/import]

I use GarageBand for everything, hahaha. [import]uid: 36054 topic_id: 17354 reply_id: 67289[/import]
