Consistency would be the largest benefit. Especially if the API would handle the presentation (word wrap, font scaling…) and allow for re-affirming on version updates automatically.
This would eliminate the need to store the result explicitly, handle changes to the code which may require new affirmation and possibly to send a network message to an URL registering the application (to the application teams / developers server).
