Admob account suspended - 2nd Time

Hi,

I am using Appodeal for Ads. Appodeal requires integration with Admob, so I set up an Admob account as well. My account got suspended a month ago, for, supposedly, clicking on my own ads. I’ve never clicked on any ad, however, my phone used to be lying around kids and I thought maybe they mistakenly clicked on ads.

Anyway, I made a new appodeal + admob account and updated the app id’s in all my apps. Worked fine for about 3 weeks and now the account is suspended again. I am 100% that neither me, nor any friend/family clicked on my own ads this time.

What could the reason be?

Also, google has become extremely hard to reach out to. The suspensions have been non appealable, and there is no way to contact the admob team. This seems like a lot of unnecessary headache to me. So please suggest some alternatives for Ads monetization. I don’t want this much hassle.

thanks!

Hi @uetgs,

Sorry to hear this… could you create yet another account and guarantee that nobody is clicking on the ads?

Are you potentially looking for other ad providers than AdMob, or are you looking for an entirely different way to monetize? If the first (ads), then Corona offers many alternatives, conveniently outlined here.

If you’re looking for non-ad routes, the same Monetization Guide presents alternatives… basically, the only other options are in-app purchases or charging for the app outright (flat fee).

Hope this helps somewhat,

Brent

I am not sure - but maybe multiple AdMob accounts violates their Ts&Cs. Also, 3 strikes and you are out for good I am afraid. Best of luck.

One other reason may be if Google detects that a bunch of clicks are coming from one particular device during a limited time frame. This can be regarded as gaming the system to forcefully generate revenue.

If you are using banners be very careful of their placement with regards to other elements in your app. Is there a chance for accidental clicks while users are using your app? I wouldn’t recommend showing banners during gameplay for this reason as it’s too easy to accidentally click on the banner often enough to trigger their alarms.

If you’re using interstitial ads / rewarded videos, make sure you don’t show them too often.

out for good means? they will disable my google account?

@Brent, I can make another account, but again, i dont even know why they keep suspending the accounts, so there is no way to know if this one will survive or not. I have gone through admob docs and cant see what might have caused the self-clicks suspension. Anybody enlighten me please?

yes i have taken special care regarding all this. no ads during gameplay, interstitials come after every 4-5 levels. banners dont overlap any buttons

Possibly. In my experience of having an AdMob account for some years, the dashboard will show “invalid traffic”. I have always taken this to mean clicks that they do not accept/like. Still, who can be sure? I’d like to think that my account shows the odd bit of “invalid traffic” from time-to-time rather than terminate it.

My mistake. I was referring to Google Play accounts. As for AdMob - I do not know.

interestingly, my apps are still showing ads.

the admob account is suspended and their email says the apps wont show any ads now, but i’m still getting ads. looks like google is messing up pretty bad.

Just curious - did you find any additional info?  My account was also suspended on/about 28 August.  I am not entirely sure my kids don’t click on ads, since they like playing my games and others, and have been known to click randomly…  However, if there is another issue regarding Appodeal and Admob, then I would like to know about it.

Thanks.

Also - I thought that Appodeal used other networks as well - even if Admob is blocked, shouldn’t I expect other ads to show up? I am not seeing any banner ads since the suspension. I do see rewarded and interstitial tho.

What is your click-through percentage?

As far as Appodeal using other networks for banner ads the bulk of their impressions comes from Admob. Did you add your Facebook credentials to Appodeal so that you also get Facebook ads? That might improve your fill rate for banners now that you don’t have admob.

No, i didnt find any other info. just made a new admob account and linked it to my appodeal account.

Hard to say, but i feel it was just google messing up. I was sure no one clicked on my ads. to top it off, it’s extremely annoying that google has no means of communication open. if they block you, you’re helpless.

Hey uetgs, so could you confirm that you were able to unlink your suspended Admob account from Appodeal and then link a new Admob account to Appodeal? Will this work without having to update your app? Thanks!
