Dec 10 23:31:02 Bens-iPad-Mini-Retina Sea Animals[875] <Warning>: <Google:HTML> You are currently using version 6.8.0 of the SDK, which doesn’t officially support iOS 8. Please consider updating your SDK to the most recent sdk version, 6.12.2, to get iOS 8 support, including a fix for smart banner rendering in landscape mode. The latest SDK can be downloaded from http://goo.gl/iGzfsP. A full list of release notes is available at https://developers.google.com/mobile-ads-sdk/docs/admob/ios/rel-notes.

Was making an adhoc build today, and i noticed it’s including the 6.8.0 Admob plugin, not 6.12.0 Google Play version. I have the right lines in my build.settings file.

today i use corona to build app

admob work on ipad air,but it’s not smart banner,it just a banner

it also work on xcode simulator.

but same app on iphone 6 plus,it didn’t show admob banner

before today,it work all ok

by the way,i just update iphone and ipad air ios to 8.1.2

The issue is Corona has already implemented version 6.12.0. Now we’re building to an older version 6.8.0. Corona apps with this version (6.8.0) crashes on iPhone 6, iOS 8.1.1  (maybe older phones too) when trying to load banners.

perhaps that is also the reason why ads.height() does not work correctly on some iOS devices.

I’m really confused @gamebit.labs.  In your first post, you say we are using the older build and that’s causing problems, then you say we are using the new build and that’s causing problems.

Can you please clarify what you are seeing?

Thanks

Rob

Hi Rob,

Sorry for the confusion. As mentioned on the beginning of the post, Corona builds are now including the 6.8.0 version of the admob sdk, it was including the 6.12.0 version several days ago.

6.12.0 is more stable in iOS 8.1.1 but Google has indicated we should be updating to 6.12.2 due to smart banner issues.

My live apps are now using 6.8.0 which crashes in iOS 8.1.1 when attempting to load any banners. This seems to happen only on iPhones, not in iPads.

Ben

any news?

I’m also having problems - Interstitial banners are not displayed, only normal banners (using the latest public build and iOS 8.0).

No news yet.

Rob

Made a new test build today, no warning or messages from Google about the Admob SDK in the console.

Engineering is looking into it.
