AdMob Violation

Hi All,

I have had ads suspended from one of my apps. Email as below.

Does anyone know how to contact AdMob by phone? I want the email rescinded. I do not want to appeal. The appeal process is opaque. I do not want to be in a situation where a human or bot rejects an appeal. I simply want to speak with my account manager and get them to explain why they have suspended ad serving. Note - there is NO adult or mature content in the app. App is on iOS.

I am not happy! :frowning:

Thanks for your help.

Hello,

This email is to alert you that one of your applications is not currently in compliance with our AdMob program policies and as a result, ad serving has been disabled to your application.

Issue ID#: xx

Ad serving has been disabled to: xx (xx)

Action required: Check all other remaining applications in your account for compliance.

Current account status: Active

Violation explanation

AdMob ads may not be placed on apps with adult or mature content. This includes, but is not limited to, apps with images or videos containing:

    Strategically covered nudity

    Sheer or see-through clothing

    Lewd or provocative poses

Close-ups of breasts, buttocks, or crotches

For more information about keeping your content family-safe, please review our program guidelines and these tips from the policy team.

Action required: Check account for compliance

While ad serving has been disabled to the above app, your AdMob account remains active. We suggest that you take the time to review the rest of your applications to ensure that they’re in compliance with our policies, and to monitor your apps accordingly to reduce the likelihood of future policy emails from us. Additionally, please note that our team reserves the right to disable accounts at any time if we continue to see violations occurring.

Appeals

If you wish to appeal this disabling, please update your app with the required changes on the app store before you submit your appeal on our appeal form. Please note that we are not able to consider your case if we do not find the updated app. We also encourage you to explain what changes have you made to your app or account in order to comply with our program policies.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Sincerely,

The Google AdMob Team

Sorry. No contact information. It might be time to move to some other provider. StartApp isn’t that bad and they do have good fill rate when I tried them.

I dare not update my apps. Apple reviewers have been routinely rejecting updates for many developers for some time. Usually spam/design but it seems arbitrary. Fortunately I can remotely switch over to Chartboost (I’d rather not) or AppLovin (I’m on the revenue share for that one).

I am using the paid AdMob plugin and after being on the Apple App Store since 2013 my AdMob experience has been the best for revenue.

Still, my AdMob account is in good standing despite the ad serving being disabled on one app. I have managed to reach out to AdMob via a web form. I am waiting for their response.

Thanks!

Hi, was your app re-enabled on admob??

What reasons did you give on admob appeal form?

Yes, the “appeal” was allowed. I did not actually appeal and said as much on the form. I simply stated that there was no adult content in the app. After some back and forth on email, ad serving was re-enabled. As below:

Hello,

Thank you for making the requested changes to your app in order to comply with our policies. We have now re-enabled ad serving to your app. Please note that because ad serving to your app was temporarily disabled, there may be a delay before ads begin appearing again. We appreciate your patience.

I never did make any changes to the app! Seems like a canned response, but there was certainly interaction with a human via email. I was a little surprised - but relieved - about that. AdMob/Google are infamous for auto/bot generated replies :frowning:

As I mentioned, on the appeal form I simply refuted their claim that my app contained any adult content - which is does not. Ironic that the app in question makes very little revenue - but I had to contest it in order to ensure my account remained in good standing. I’ve already had the misfortune to be on the end of Google Play’s “3 strikes and your out” nonsense…

Best of luck with it!

Could someone have reported your app, perhaps by accident?

Rob

@Rob - is the question for me? Yes - perhaps. I don’t know how AdMob flagged one of my apps for violation. Fortunately the end result worked out well.
