Adobe After Effects vs. Flash for animation

Hello Everyone. I am in progress of developing a game and my team is curretnly looking into character animation. I read on the Futuretro studios blog http://futuretrostudios.com/blog/welcome-panda/ that they used Adobe After effects for animation. It seems like a good solution but I was wondering if anyone knew if Adobe Flash Professional would be a better solution. I have all of the adobe software packages via creative cloud so any insight on this would offer a lot of help! thank you in advance!

Anyone??

Define “better.” Not knowing anything about you, your skills, or your animation goals, it’s far too open ended a question to get a useful answer. The best you’ll do is a collection of personal preferences with little or no bearing on your own situation, to wit: I used Cinema 4D and After Effects to do the animations in my game.

Thanks for your input! If your game is on the app store  could you post a link so I could check it out?

Sure. Tell your friends. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/concentric/id510133939?mt=8&uo=4

I like After Effects because its metaphors make sense to me, and it has powerful animation capabilities, especially for 2D (like puppet). AE CC has Cinema 4D Lite baked in for that 3D flavor, if you need it.

Great, After Effects sounds like a good choice then for my 2D animation, and thanks for the link I will download the app this evening!
