Adobe Recognizes Corona SDK as Mobile Gaming Technology

Adobe recognizes CoronaSDK as Mobile Gaming Technologies along side Flash and Unity3D. http://twitpic.com/44ggeo

Thanks to all of your our developers for making this happen.

Carlos.

Go and re-twitter. Lets show them who is the real mobile gaming standard ! Woohoooo

whee, I use all three [import]uid: 12108 topic_id: 7233 reply_id: 25425[/import]

I can tell you as a professional Flash developer since Flash 3 that as far as performance goes on mobile, Flash is astronomically nowhere near Corona for high performance apps - in fact it performs hideously.

Might want to keep an eye on the next Adobe release if they implement hardware acceleration properly though, as visual editing tools do streamline a lot of asset creation which is where Flash is currently better.

I am loving Corona though and it does blitz Flash in almost every aspect on mobile platforms at the moment. [import]uid: 9428 topic_id: 7233 reply_id: 25444[/import]

Please make links in forums open in new windows. Or give us a new window icon next to the links. I know. I’m lazy. Still, when I click a link here, I’m not intending to leave. [import]uid: 13859 topic_id: 7233 reply_id: 25458[/import]

That one was a good joke hehe

Interesting that the developers of "CrapSlowAndInstable"TM (flash on mobile or osx) are entitled to “acknowledge something” in a field where they have no relevance and reputation at all and have the nerve to list themself in the same … Its shocking that they haven’t realized yet that their iOS / Android performance is shamefull

But it shows that Corona is a fine technology and thats fine  [import]uid: 34188 topic_id: 7233 reply_id: 25573[/import]

I Hope there are no plans of *mergers* with the mother-ship for the founders. Injection of some venture capital and cash would be nice, but not at the risk of losing the platform to a corporation that will take it out of the reach of the masses into the hands of a select few.

Adobe had their chance a couple of years ago, however what they can do is try to facilitate a professional IDE that works with CoronaSDK and release it as OpenSource (to atone for their missed opportunity when they had one)

i’ve seen that page before, but thank you!

some people’s missed opportunities are some other people’s chances

is it bad that the mother ship (;-)) made mistakes?
or is it good?
