Ads or no ads?

Is it general consensus that paid apps should not have ads?

I’m trying to get my first iPhone app in Corona ready to submit and am not sure whether I should do the iPhone version paid, without ads, and do a free Android version with ads, or include ads in the paid version or do a paid/no ad version and a lite/ad version for the iPhone?

My thought as a consumer of apps is I don’t want to see ads in something I paid for. If it’s a free app, I expect to see ads.
