This is not the official Ansca Corona SDK Corona UI.

Please see http://developer.anscamobile.com/forum/2011/04/09/coronaui-confusion for clarification.

Not totally sure but maybe you should have some kind of very, very clear message that you aren’t actually associated with Ansca in any way?

http://developer.anscamobile.com/forum/2011/03/17/corona®

I can’t be certain but I would think that the above applies here, especially given the obvious likelihood of confusion. [import]uid: 10144 topic_id: 8714 reply_id: 31801[/import]

I think you’ll get a sub forum when you change your products name. Never in a million years will you get a sub forum for your Corona UI when for the past few months most, including myself have been waiting for the official Corona UI.

You have obviously worked hard on your Lua libraries and have created something useful so I’d strongly recommend changing the Corona UI name to Virtual UI or something, else I can see your product getting ignored by developers as just a copycat who couldn’t think of his own name or worse yet, just Spam. [import]uid: 33866 topic_id: 8714 reply_id: 31875[/import]

Yep, just saw that, thats a very good move as it takes all the emphasis off the name and back onto your intriguing UI libraries.

I’ve just purchased your UI product and I’m looking forward to having a play around with it

Also curious to how far you intend going with your UI product. Will you reproduce everything which you can create in Interface Builder (xCode) or just a select few input controls? [import]uid: 33866 topic_id: 8714 reply_id: 31888[/import]

Yep, just saw that :stuck_out_tongue: Thanks for your purchase.

I’ve sent you the zip file and some info about how to use it. Please feel free to contact me any time when you need help.

I probably will not create those which have appeared in the Corona SDK. I have started from the most commonly used UI components. However, I may create duplicated components if I want to add more (requested) functions/features to them. How far I will go will depend on the popularity (a.k.a number of purchases) of my library set.

cl, thanks for your support again!

In fairness to your customers, before they purchase, and to avoid arguments and refunds later, you should point out that your code is obfuscated… [import]uid: 6175 topic_id: 8714 reply_id: 31893[/import]

@gamehkmail

Just been trying out UI for Corona and although your project is starting to flesh out nicely there are a few issues that spoil your interface elements.

  • The switch does not animate or slide when touched it just jumps to the On Off state. Would be nice to mimic the real operation of sliding the switch. Also a real iOS switch you can slide and move your finger outside the switch and keep sliding back and forth.

  • The slider suffers similar issues but does slide. However does not slide unless your finger is perfectly on the slider. On a real iOS slider you can slide and move your finger off the slider and still slide. The problem with your slider is unless your deadly accurate users will find the slider experience irritating.

  • The shadow on the titles on your navigation bar for iPhone 4 seem to be out by about a pixel or two, I’m not sure is this is because of the resolution difference? Anyway it looks slightly odd and not ‘real’

These are some of the most obvious findings so far. Your libraries are easy to use but because they aren’t free the above issues should be looked at because users of your library should expect the basic functions to mimic iOS perfectly as some of the behaviour at the moment would fail to be accepted into the app store I’d imagine under iOS Human Interface Guidelines and so might make your library useless for anything but mock ups or the Android market. cl-apps,

Thanks for your comments!

  • I did spend some time to try to mimic the iOS switch before the first release and I have written codes for the sliding motion. Everything worked fine except masking. Making a switch like this would need masking but the current built-in masking function doesn’t work properly because of bugs in the Corona SDK. I will include the sliding motion to it after the masking function works properly in later daily builds of Corona SDK.

  • Thanks for pointing it out. It works as what you said now.

  • I will try to improve it.

I will release an updated version later.

Please feel free to report bugs or give comments here again.

Hi carlos,
Thanks for your reply. I didn’t intend to confuse my product with the official UI. I am sorry about it. I called it Corona UI because I saw that other products from the sub-forum Corona 3rd Party Tools had a name like Corona + Something. By the way, could you please help me to create a sub-forum for my product? Thanks very much.

Hi, peachpellen,
No, I am not associated with Anscamobile. Thanks for the link. It’s very useful. I will bear in mind it.
