Amazon Appstore: APK file built from Corona 704 failed to upload with Amazon DRM

Hi all,

I recently updated to use the latest Corona 704 official build.
I created a new build of our game to submit to the Amazon appstore.

When I uploaded the APK file in the Amazon appstore developer portal,
I got the error the “The binary appears to be corrupted. Please check the binary and upload again.”
This happens when I click “Apply Amazon DRM to this binary”.
If I do not, it seems to work

Previously, I used a much older build of Corona (641) to build my game.
I used the same binary as I used when submitting to Android Marketplace, and it worked fine
when I applied Amazon DRM
Here are the exact steps to reproduce my problem

  1. On Corona 704
  2. File->Build->Amazon/Kindle
  3. Filled in the correct values for “Application Name”, “Version Code”, “Version Name”
  4. Use my Keystore file and Key Alias to build for production
  5. Click “Build”
  6. An APK file was created.
  7. I uploaded this APK file to Amazon Appstore Developer Portal.
This was in the “Upload Binary” section of the Application submission

When I uploaded the file, I got this error message in RED.

“The binary appears to be corrupted. Please check the binary and upload again.”

If I do not apply DRM, it seems to take it.
I was wondering if you know about this issue.

Hello jsun,

We checked the DRM option when we uploaded our “Corona Indie Bundle” app to the Amazon store and we did not have this corruption issue. Perhaps the Amazon servers were having a problem at the time you uploaded your file? Can you try uploading it again? I’m really not sure what it could be on our end that would cause this issue.

Hi, issue seems to have been resolved.
I guess there was a problem on Amazon’s servers at the time.
Today, I uploaded another game to Amazon appstore today with Amazon DRM and it worked.
