Amazon IAP v2?

Just received this notice…

In July 2014, we released In-App Purchasing (IAP) v2.0, which represents an evolution of the API with several major updates that require changes to v1.0 integrations. Now that a significant time period to migrate from v1.0 to v2.0 has passed, we are planning to deprecate v1.0 on April 30, 2016. At this time all active apps will continue to function as expected, but we will begin to fail new submissions and updates still integrated with IAP v1.0. Highlights on the features of v2.0 and migration details are noted below.

Is there a timeline for v2 compatibility?

Thanks.

[UPDATE]

Amazon IAP v2 plugin released on April 6th.

We are investigating. In the meantime, you can help show demand for this by voting up this feature request:

Thanks Rob,

Done already.

Also, currently I’m using the Amazon plugin in-app-purchasing-1.0.3.jar. For some reason 1.0.20.jar doesn’t work and is causing problems. I haven’t dug into the problem yet since 1.0.3 seems to work.

An update of this would be super. We have about 2 months before it’s going to start becoming an issue:

https://developer.amazon.com/public/community/post/Tx1B94GME3YV31S/Migrate-Your-IAP-v1-0-Apps-to-v2-0

Btw, I asked amazon support about the timeline to completely phase out v1, and they said it probably wouldn’t be for a long time.

So that means our old games (if not updated) will still continue to work.

Well that’s good to know at least but it would still be great to have access to the new and improved version.

We have a pair of word game apps that get more than a third of their income from AMAZON STORE in-app purchases. And we continue to publish updates for these apps that users expect to see every 90 days or so (updates with new puzzles).

It would be totally crushing to get to this Summer and have to say to all of the Amazon users (many thousands of DAUs) . . . . “sorry guys, we can’t update you ever again like we do the Apple and Google Play people because we can no longer do any IAP with Amazon.” Jeepers, this would be awful and financially painful.

Any news about IAP 2.0 support?

We are working on it.

Great to hear, thanks Rob!

Any apps submitted as either a new or updated app after April 30, 2016 will need to use IAP v2.0.

Only 33 Days Left!

We are very aware of how much time we have left.  Please do not use larger and colorful type. This is a form of shouting and is against the forum rules.

Thanks

Rob

Great work!!! Thanks Rob!

Hi Rob, where can I download the Enterprise plugin for Amazon IAP V2?

Go to Daily Builds.

Click on the Enterprise tab.

There is a link to download the latest plugin tar-ball. It should be in there.

Rob

I’ve downloaded the latest version package CoronaEnterprisePlugins.2016.2860.tgz, but after unzipped, the subfolder of amazon_iap directory is 2013.1137, the jar file is amazon-iap/2013.1137/android/in-app-purchasing-1.0.20.jar.      This is not the latest, right?

I’ll see what’s going on!
