Amazon Kindle Fire In-App Purchases!

Amazon just sent out an email stating that In-App purchases are now available. Is this going to be implemented into the Corona SDK anytime soon?

**Dear Amazon Appstore for Android Developer,

Today we announced the availability of our Amazon Appstore for Android SDK and In-App Purchasing API to our developer community. Our In-App Purchasing solution allows developers to offer digital content and subscriptions–such as in-game currency, expansion packs, upgrades, and magazine issues–for purchase within apps. We created this new solution to make it easy for you to increase customer engagement and monetize your apps on millions of Kindle Fire and other Android devices.

With the Amazon Appstore for Android In-App Purchasing API, you can reach customers with existing accounts who have already bought apps, including millions of Kindle Fire customers. Our simple, secure, and trusted 1-Click purchase experience is easy for customers to use, increasing conversion rates for purchases within your app. Plus, we designed our In-App Purchasing (IAP) solution to be simple and easy to integrate so you can be up and running quickly.

It’s easy to get started from the Developer Portal, where you’ll find documentation, sample code, tutorials, frequently asked questions, and more. In the coming weeks, we’ll also be featuring strategies and tips from our IAP beta partners, such as Glu Mobile, G5 Entertainment, Storm8, and New York Post, on the Amazon Appstore developer blog.

Sign in to the Amazon Appstore Developer Portal to access the Quick Start Guide at http://developer.amazon.com/appstore, visit our developer blog at http://www.amazonappstoredev.com/, or check out our IAP video at http://www.youtube.com/AmazonAppstoreDev
We have updated our Appstore Distribution Agreement, and it includes the terms applicable to your use of our In-App Purchasing solution. Please review the updated agreement here.

Another reason to be frustrated with Android. Now there are two API’s, what if Barnes & Noble wants their own SDK or some of these other markets?

While I don’t have any inApp purchase apps lined up, I’d say this needs to have a big +1 added to it. [import]uid: 19626 topic_id: 24650 reply_id: 99888[/import]

Man i hope so, I have an up and coming app that will bee free and have loads of in app purchases. [import]uid: 11860 topic_id: 24650 reply_id: 99896[/import]

My upcoming game is freemium using IAP to monetize the iOS version. I was contemplating having to do a fairly major rewrite to make a paid version for Nook and Kindle Fire. It would be much better/easier instead to have a “Corona-fied” IAP solution that works cross platform. [import]uid: 9422 topic_id: 24650 reply_id: 99901[/import]

In-App purchases are the direction the market is moving towards. Very Important.

ANSCA, any confirmation/comment? [import]uid: 71789 topic_id: 24650 reply_id: 104008[/import]

+1. This would be tremendously awesome, not having the capability to use in app purchases on tablets is forcing me to limit some features in a game that I’m building. [import]uid: 111561 topic_id: 24650 reply_id: 105223[/import]

Double post… my bad [import]uid: 50842 topic_id: 24650 reply_id: 105228[/import]

Any chance Amazon in-app purchases might get included in the next sprint of enhancements? I’m wondering if I should delay a release for this important feature… [import]uid: 84258 topic_id: 24650 reply_id: 105788[/import]

Just wanted to note that people at Amazon have actually contacted me and specifically asked why I am not enabling in-app purchases and if they can assist. I directed them Ansca’s way. [import]uid: 84258 topic_id: 24650 reply_id: 107547[/import]
