Amazon upload gives an error "App displays blank screen :"

I just put my app in Google play, it’s now “live”

but when I try Amazon, I got a “Fail” message from Amazon.

– I build the app using the normal build in Corona

instead of “building for Google” I put “Building for Amazon”

and I used the same .apk that I used for Google.

– in my Corona simulator I see the app fine in Kindle Fire, and Nook and all of them

but I got this from Amazon" FAIL

Observation:- App displays blank screen :
1.Install and launch the app.
2.App displays blank screen.

Could somebody help me out to find out why I get the FAIL error.?

I read the links Amazon gave me, but it’s not telling me anything

Thanks for your help

You should probably try to install the apk on an actual kindle fire emulator and check the logs.

Thanks for the answer…Would you help me please do that…

What is an “emulator”? – is it the same as corona simulator…

where do I get this “emulator” – do I need a special program, or where do I get it and how?

–check the “logs” – is the same as looking at the “terminal” in corona?

– where do I see this “logs”?

would you be so kind to help me out, thanks

You will probably need to read this

https://developer.amazon.com/appsandservices/resources/development-tools/ide-tools/tech-docs/01-setting-up-your-development-environment

There are a number of steps, but it will allow you to gauge more accurately what the reason for the black screen issue is.

BTW the report that amazon gave you, is it for all the amazon fire tablets or just a few?

All of them…

I went to the link…

do I need all of this?

even if I am just working on Corona SDK?

I don’t know how to use “Java” at all…

  • Java Development Kit (JDK) (required)
  • Android SDK (required)
  • Eclipse integrated development environment (IDE) (recommended)
  • Kindle Fire device dependencies (required)

ok - just a few questions.

  1. Does your app use any functionality that is exclusive to google play e.g. its IAP or game services?

If not, then try building it as none or google play and see what happens?

  1. You say that your app is live, do you mind sharing the link to the app? I have a kindle fire, i could test it on my device and possibly tell you what the logs say.

– Not that I know, I don’t think so, it’s a very simple app.

“If not, then try building it as none or google play and see what happens?”

I see what you are saying… I build the .apk as “Amazon” or for “Amazon” when using Corona build.

So I will try that tomorrow, and build one as “For Google” and one as “For nothing”

  1. You say that your app is live… [Yes]

Thanks for all your help

I honestly appreciate it.

J_wbrown – you are the BEST! thank you very much.

you gave me the answer to this problem…

After all the errors in Amazon, and many many e-mail from amazon

and display blank screen when loading…

you said this

“try building it as none or google play and see what happens?”

so I open corona, build for google (instead for amazon)

I got the apk for google, upload it to Amazon

and now is LIVE in Amazon – Great!

problem solve!!!

Thank you very much.

I don’t know if the build for Amazon may have some bugs or something in there, but I use build for google and it works on google play and in Amazon

Thank you one more time

Good News indeed! - glad that your app is up and running on the amazon store.
