Any idea on when we might be able to expect support for android 5.0? Thanks
What Android 5 features/support are you looking for?
I’m looking to see when Corona SDK might support the latest Android release. Just like the current effort to be IOS 8 ready. I suppose Android 5.0 must be on the list as well. Any ETA? Thanks.
If I understand correctly, what SDK’s are supported for Android is a different beast than it is for iOS. Apple keeps things simple, build with the latest and you can work back two versions. Width Android you specify a minimum (2.3.3 in our case) and a target (I think is 4.0 or 4.1). All future versions are backwards compatible. In other words, 5.0 fully understands 4.x. Because of this there isn’t a forward moving pressure to stay “current” like there is with iOS. Only if there are new features in 5.0 that 4.x doesn’t have, would we want to move there. Now 5.0 is a big change from 4.x, so I would assume at some point we will move our target to 5.0. I know Engineering has been looking at the features. It will not happen in the next public build.
That’s why I was asking if there were features in 5.0 that you are interested in.
