Android device for testing?

I’m interested in publishing my app efforts to both iOS and Android. I have a few iOS devices that I use in my daily life that I’m able to test on. I was wondering if anyone had any advice regarding picking up an Android based piece of hardware to test Android app builds on?

I would be interested in something that sells decently (so that its used in some numbers by consumers) but also that wouldn’t break the bank.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks  [import]uid: 105707 topic_id: 34340 reply_id: 334340[/import]

If you are serious about testing on Android devices, check out PerfectoMobile.com .
It’s not cheap, but you can test your app on hundreds of Android devices for about $25/hour of use.
Basically, you control the phone and they have a camera mounted over it. They have phones throughout the world. There is a free trial.
I know that sounds like a commercial, but I was so happy to find this service. [import]uid: 145435 topic_id: 34340 reply_id: 136489[/import]

Wow, that’s a crazy service. Glad to know about that. I’m not at the point of testing my builds on that scale but if everything works out as I hope, that is the type of thing I’d like to take advantage of at some point. Thanks for the heads up.

I’ve been doing some research since I posted and am thinking maybe the wifi Nexus 7. A little more money than I’d like to spend at the moment but it would be nice to look at a screen bigger than a phone. [import]uid: 105707 topic_id: 34340 reply_id: 136493[/import]
