Android media.stopSound()

Is there a problem with media.stop.Sound() on Android or am I missing something.It works fine on iOS device, but on Android with Froyo 2.2 the mp3’s do not stop playing and I end up with 3 or 4 songs playing at once.

Is there a work around for this or am I not doing something extra that needs done for Android?

Thanks in advance [import]uid: 8533 topic_id: 5324 reply_id: 305324[/import]

It is weird that it is working on iOS but not on Android, I used it in a test job we did for a client a while ago. But I remember reading a thread about a similar issue a couple of months ago, I just was not able to find it.

Sorry if the question is stupid, but did you start the sound with media.playSound()? Which Android device are you testing it on? [import]uid: 13836 topic_id: 5324 reply_id: 17688[/import]

I used media.playSound(filename.mp3) to start it and the device is a regular Droid with 2.2.

Sounds have been one of the reasons we haven’t pushed Zombies Ala Mode to Android yet. The Ansca team is working very very hard on Android bugs and has told us they are very close to fixing sounds, as well as many performance issues.

If you can afford to be patient, I know they won’t let us down!

Thanks for the replies. Being new to Corona the first thought is I am doing something wrong or missing something.

I believe Android is very important. I prefer iOS myself, but most of the people I know that have Android are always looking for something to play because Android just does not have the quantity of quality games iOS has. In the end there will probably be many more Android devices out there simply because they give the OS away to anyone that wants to put it on their device.

The downside to that argument is that tons of people have Android simply because it is on any other smart phone you buy. They use it to make calls and check e-mail. They do not know or care about what else it does. I know about 11 people like that myself in the small town I live in. People that buy iOS devices usually buy them because of what they can do. Seems to me many Android customers walked in to a Verizon store and were told, “This is our best smart phone and the one to have.” Welcome to Android.

Many people buy Android for what it can do too and some buy it because they are Apple haters, but all but 2 people I know that have Android simply have it because it was what was in the Verizon store and if you wanted a smart phone, they had no choice. AT&T just has Edge network in my area.

So who know how it will play out in the end, but supporting both can only be a good thing, [import]uid: 8533 topic_id: 5324 reply_id: 17785[/import]
