Android vs iOS video issue

Hi, this might have come up in the past, but I’m new to app development and struggling with this for a few days now.

I purchased the Kwik2 plugin for photoshop to create ebooks and apps more visually than sitting and coding everything out. I’m also new to coding so its all a bit of an uphill battle most of the time.

To the point: Im struggling to have a .mp4 video file play on both Android and iOS devices. I get no errors from Corona nor from Kwik upon export and the video plays fine on the iPad, however not on the Android tablets.

Does anyone know if something needs setting up on the Android tablet or if there is another piece of code missing from the android build? I’ve checked the .apk file and the video files resides in it.

I’ve downloaded the BlueStacks app player for windows and mac and both “emulators” don’t play the video file. I understand the Corona simulator doesn’t play the file, hence testing it on the devices, but at present its a bit of a mind boggler.

To sum up: video file “.mp4” ( supported by iOS and Android as per internet research) don’t play on Android build but does play on iOS build. It DOES play if i copy the video file over to the android device but doesn’t play in the app.

any help welcome

cheers
